The overall build quality is great and we can see it has reducing weight in mind when engineering this printer. It is lighter than it looks and easy to move from one location to another. I was able to set up the mobile app and the printer on my Android phone in under 5 min without hitting any issues. The MacBook and Windows laptop requires a scan utility to be downloaded and installed on the devices separately. The Canon scan utility is so much better and user-friendly than our old Okidata in every aspect. It is a huge upgrade for us in terms of the software. The only thing the old Okidata all-in-one wins is the paper feeder but not a huge deal for a small family who scans maybe 50 pages a year.
The only place I want to see improvement is maybe including a small quick start guide in the package. Also, it will be great to see the ability to initiate the scan feature on the printer instead of relying on the devices to initiate the scan. I want to place the document on the scanner and then select devices from the printer to send the scanned doc to.
Overall, it is a great budger-friendly all-in-one printer that will satisfy most small families with casual printing needs on a daily basis.
But I did not enjoy the setup process at all. After having finished and being defeated by some setup features, I see where other people said it was easy to set up. But since I am not a trusting person when it comes to online security I took the hard road and it was not enjoyable.
The first security issue came from downloading the app. I used the QR code to get to the page. On that page you could download straight from the web browser (big non-no) or they had the handy download from the App Store button which you should choose. The problem was that when you chose that button it did not take you to the App store. It just tried to get you to download it from the webpage again. Red Flag. But I was able to open the App Store myself and then download the app.
Second security concern was when I tried to connect to my wifi router. It showed me about 8 versions of my wifi router, and and equal number of my guest wifi, and a few others mixed. That is super suspicious
I decided that since it was a legitimate app from the App store I would risk it and select one of my wifi names shown. It did connect but left me feeling unhappy about the process.
Third security concern was when I went to print and it asked for authentication. There was an Easy Connect (recommended) and the manual password process. I tried to choose the password process for greater security. Ugh. It said there were 3 options for what the starting password would be. It listed some models and said it would be X for those. Not my model. It said for other models to use the Serial Number. Ok, tried that...nope. It said if that didn't work then it was an ever changing random string that could be found in some print setting document somewhere that was not easily found. Once again I gave up and used their easy trusting option, and it worked and I was able to print.
So if you trust them and use all the easy options and don't question anything then yes, set up is a breeze. But if you try to go the route all the security people say to use, its a nightmare. So I am hoping its all legit and ok. I will update this if I start noticing any suspicious activity.
So ultimately I have an easy to use printer now after a lot of headache and worry. So good I guess? I really debated between 3 and 4 stars. But at this time its a 4.

The best part is that it operates wirelessly using Wi-Fi, which makes it incredibly convenient. I can print directly from my phone or laptop without needing to plug in any cables. It took a little getting used to the setup process, but by following the instructions carefully, I managed to get it up and running without too much trouble.
The printing speed is quite good, and it handles both black and color prints efficiently. The compact size fits perfectly on my desk without taking up too much space, and the design is sleek and modern.
I also appreciate the rear paper tray for quick reloading and the flatbed scanner for easily scanning documents and photos. The compatibility with Chromebook devices and various mobile apps like CanonPRINT and AirPrint adds to the versatility.
Overall, the Canon PIXMA TS3720 has exceeded my expectations. It's easy to use, versatile, and the wireless feature makes it incredibly convenient. I highly recommend it for anyone in need of a reliable and efficient all-in-one printer.
