Directions

Use on freshly washed face skin. Pump a small amount into a cupped hand. Work the Serum into the pores of the skin area that you want to tighten and to repair. What form of vitamin C is in Maritime Naturals Vitamin C Serum?

Our serum contains vitamin C as sodium ascorbyl phosphate. This is the most stable form of vitamin c for skincare and is less irritating to skin. The molecular structure is also small so it can effectively absorb into the deep layers of the skin.

What colour is Vitamin C Serum?

We avoid chemicals for clarity and prioritize fewer synthetics, leading to colour variations in our Vitamin C Serum. It can appear cloudy or 'rusty' due to the MSM ingredient, which ranges from white to amber.

Can Vitamin C Serum for face also be used as a Vitamin C body serum?

While our Vitamin C serum is formulated for the more delicate and sensitive skin on the face there is no reason you cannot use to target specific body skin concerns. We still suggest following your serum application with a moisturizer.

Can I use Vitamin C Serum with other skin care products?

Most definitely. Toners can be applied before Vitamin C Serum. If you wish to apply other serums do so after Vitamin C Serum is absorbed. Always follow serum application with a moisturizer and SPF sunscreen during the day.

I have only been using this product for about a week but after the first day, I already got a compliment from Someone who literally stopped in their tracks, looked at me to figure out what might be different, and commented on how my face was glowing. I can only attribute this to the serum, as nothing else had changed at that time. My acne is better than it has ever been. I love the citrus smell of the serum. I received a very thorough email from the company after the serum a delivered and I wanted to share some of the stuff they said because it answers some of the negativity I had seen in the reviews before I purchased - I'm so happy I didn't listen. It is usually best to experience something like this for yourself because everyone will have a different reaction to a product
This is what the company says in response to concerns about stability of the Vitamin c, thinness of the serum, etc...
"It is important to give the bottle a little shake every few days to remix the natural ingredients. Over time it will separate but the shake will remix the ingredients. You will find our serum is much thinner than other companies.
A high quality serum needs to have very small molecules so the skin can absorb it, not just sit on the surface or clog the pores.
You made a great choice in Maritime Naturals. Most companies use L'ascorbic acid form of Vitamin C - it is a good vitamin c but it is prone to be volatile to heat, light and air. We use a newer more stabilized form of Vitamin C (Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate) it is immediately ready to be absorbed into the skin - it is gentle, stable and converts to Ascorbic Acid once absorbed. We also only ever use a pumptop to avoid putting a contaminated dropper back into the serum."

There are a lot of Vit C Serum products on the market. I completed extensive research (well...my own!!) on various brands. Although it doesn't say on the bottle or packaging, I contacted the company direct and they confirmed the Vit C formula is 20%.
The smell is slightly citrus, not unpleasant, nor noticeable once absorbed into the skin.
Not crazy about the dispensary, it's a pump. The product is liquid so when pumped, it can be a bit tricky, but after a few tries, you'll get the hang of it. A little goes a long way. Good value for the quantity and the fact that it is 20% Vit C vs many that are only 5% or 10%.
Love that it's Made in Canada!!

I'm not certain what the negative reviews are talking about. The smell is lovely - very subtle and citrusy. The pump is a bit tricky. I just hold the bottle completely upright and spray directly against the opposite hand to ensure it doesn't spray all over the place and that works fine. I am 53 and have combination skin, enlarged pores, not too many lines and a few age spots. I have trouble using moisturizer because it turns my T-zone into an oil slick by mid-day. I love using this serum in the morning without moisturizer. It absorbs quickly and makes my skin feel soft. My pores are tighter and not so visible. I had skin that was getting bumpy and red - especially on my cheeks - and in 2 weeks I have seen an improvement. My skin looks smoother and a bit glowy with a bit of a matte look instead of my usual oiliness. I don't have sensitive skin, so I can't speak to that, but if you have oily to combination skin, it works great! The lines on my neck and forehead are less noticeable and my age spots have faded a bit as well. I find the quality of the product great!
