Ricoh GRiiiX + Flash!
5 out of 5 stars
Ricoh GRiiiX + Flash!
Bonus! I have a lightpix labs flash. I use it with the GRiiiX and with my Fuji cameras as fill or for fun. It's not a huge flash and I thought this JJC case would be perfect for me to be able to carry it around instead of the soft bag I normally carry it in. Well guess what? I can fit the GRiiiX AND the Lightpix labs flash in the same case. It's a bit of a tight fit, but it works (see pics) That's a game changer for me and maybe the strap now makes sense to use as well.Original review before the flash revelation.Wasn't sure if I'd like this or not. The whole point of the Ricoh GRiiiX is that it's compact and you can fit it into your pocket. It also packs away into my luggage into little pockets no problem so I never really considered a case. However, there are times when I don't have a dedicated pocket or area for the camera, it has to sit around with keys and other items. For these times, it's nice to be able to pack away the camera into a protective case. The camera fits perfectly and the case has some cool features. It's got nice structure like a hard case so your camera for sure it protected. Also there are a couple different ways to mount/carry this. It comes with a strap that I'll probably never use. But it also has a belt loop that I used to attach it to my backpack for testing. The third option is a carabiner that's included. I can use this to attach to the molle loops on my backpack as well.If anything, it becomes a nice little storage for other small items!

This hard camera case just barely fits the Sony ZV-1F if it has no accessories attached, but with a cold shoe mount, mic muff, and wrist strap, it absolutely doesn't fit. If this case was slightly larger it would definitely be more practical. The design isn't bad and it would prevent the camera from getting crushed, but I don't like the metal button on the inside. I feel that any metal near the camera isn't a good idea and is simply bad design. You can see the metal buttons in my photos. The case comes with a long strap for carrying over your shoulder and a carbineer clip that you can use to attach the case to a bag, belt, or whatever. The mesh compartment on the inside I think is meant to hold an extra battery and maybe a charging cable. If you're looking for a camera case there are better options out there.

Reality Check
3.0 out of 5 stars Needs work...

This is a good case for an OM TG-7 as far as durability and protection goes, but there are a few issues that could have made for much better design.

I like the full-open zipper and the hard clamshell idea with the camera under a strap on one side, and a spot for a few extras on the other. There are numerous straps and attachment options on the outside to allow you to carry it however you want.

One of the problems however, is that the accessories pouch is useless for batteries, extra data cards, or pretty much anything except cords, since these smaller items will simply fall out of the open end, since it doesn’t zip shut. My work-around is to place these items in a small plastic bag and tuck that behind the pouch, but it makes for more difficult access.

Another, more serious flaw is that the belt clip is riveted on through the back of the case, leaving two metal rivets exposed to rub against the glass monitor of the camera. I thought that would be a deal breaker and I wouldn’t be able to use the case at all, but I found that I could glue a piece of felt in to cushion and protect that side of the case. Again, I really shouldn’t have had to do that.

Lastly, there is an elastic strap holding the camera into one side of the case, but it is split with velcro attaching the two halves. It would have been better to eliminate the velcro entirely and just have a good elastic strap since the velcro is already showing signs of becoming unusable, and worn out, as sometimes happens with very small pieces of velcro. I think that I’ll eventually need to sew the two halves together to make it more functional.

Considering the flaws, $18 to $20 seems pretty high for this case, and there are better ones on the market in that range. Half that would be acceptable unless these flaws are corrected.

This camera case is robust and provides excellent protection for various camera models. It's compact yet has enough space for essential accessories, though it's a bit bulky for light travel.

5.0 out of 5 stars A compact, attractive and well-designed camera case offering protection and convenient storage

I don’t consider myself a neatnik, but I like to keep things organized and ready for use. So, I’m always on the lookout for a case for carrying and storing items from what has turned into my collection of various action cams, body cams and digital point-and-shoot models. At 5.12 x 2.68 x 1.42 inches, the JJC hard case is a near-perfect fit for my latest camera which until now was tucked on a shelf in the original manufacturer’s packaging. I appreciate that sellers often include a lightweight carrying case for their products, but the JJC hard case goes a step farther. Small it is, but it’s also rugged and super convenient. It is attractively molded of durable, ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) material with a soft lining and a quality, double zipper with comfortable pullers. There is a mesh pocket for storing accessories inside the lid, and a Velcro strap to secure the camera. It comes with an adjustable-length, neck/shoulder strap with metal, quick-release clips; a wrist strap; a belt loop; and a carabineer for quick links to other components. Now, when I get the itch to shoot, I know I’ll find everything I need in one place and in one piece.

3.0 out of 5 stars Well Manufactured - Some Design Flaws

I have owned several JCC products, and I find they make excellent budget camera accessories. This hard case offers some protection. It is not hard like fiberglass; it is more like very stiff ballistic nylon. There is no padding in the case. The Sony RX100 VI fits in the case; however, it does jiggle around and requires Velcro tabs to keep it in place. (See picture) This means that the moment I need the camera, I can't simply unholster it; I have to fumble with the Velcro tabs to release it.

There is a loose pocket for accessories. I like to carry extra batteries and SD cards. This pocket has no zipper or Velcro enclosure, so anything stored in it can easily slip out. (see picture)

This case is well manufactured, but it has some design flaws. I am subtracting stars for the lack of easy camera access and the lack of useful accessory storage.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good case for the Ricoh GR III with a few little details
Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2024
Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
I got this case for my Ricoh GR III. I use the GR with the JJC automatic lenscap, and this case still fits. You can see, though, the velcro straps need to be placed a little to the side. In this particular case though, you can't really cut off the straps because the case opens like a clamshell and if the velcro straps are cut off the camera might fall off. It is a tight secure fit for the GR III and even fits a little finger strap that I have attached, Also, you can see that it still fits with the camera wrap I have applied. So, there is even room in the mesh top for some cables, extra SD card with plastic case, and extra battery with small charger. Or in my case, three extra batteries. It is a little heavier than my other case and the official Ricoh case, but it is hard-sided so it will be heavier. This will be great for putting into a piece of luggage or backpack for travel.
