The quality of these adapters is solid, and they definitely do what they are designed for, but be sure that your setup will allow for proper use. The cable angles in the direction of the lone "3" pin of the XLR plug, so it often means that on mixers with controls below the plug, those controls will be covered by the cable, as seen in the photos. It would also be an issue for many DI pedals, as the orientation would have this adapter pointing towards the ground, which isn't practical. It would be quite useful in many other situations, however, like rack mounted gear, or reducing the space needed in the rear of amps or other audio gear.It should be noted that because the cable ends are user-serviceable, you can take apart the right-angle case and rotate the orientation, but this carries a risk of weakening the connection or putting undue strain on the attachment points inside. It's a tight fit, but I was able to feed the cable some slack, flip the connector end and rotate the cable so that the orientation is the opposite, which suits my uses a bit better.Something to keep in mind for this change is that the release switch will then under the right angle, and is harder to access.

It took awhile for these cables to ship, but they appear to be very high quality, with gold contacts and metal XLR boots. The 90 degree bend in the female connectors will allow a component to fit on a narrower shelf or stand. I just wish somebody made these with right-angle connectors at both ends and the same quality of materials.

Works as expected. Solid build, and clipped in my Yamaha mixer. Sound quality is great. One should pay close attend on which way the 90 degree turns. For some equipment it will make a difference. Eg. It can only go perpendicular upwards or downwards, not both

Once again, I'm completely and utterly at fault for not reading the title carefully enough to see that these are 12" or 30cm long.

***THAT BEING SAID!***

There's nothing wrong with the cables besides their length. I've got an XLR microphone going to a USB audio box that goes into my computer. I've got my microphone in a mic boom arm that means I need maybe three feet worth of cable, probably closer to two, but one foot just won't do, but that's where my XLR cable exposure ends.

I quite literally do not know what the use case for these looks like. If imagine that if I had a desktop microphone stand instead of a microphone arm, it'd work perfectly for me. Maybe there's some other piece of tech that would work great with cables around this length.

I'm thinking of those really short charging cables for your phone that wouldn't work if you wanted to lie in bed and use your phone but work just fine if you have a portable power bank and just need to charge your phone. Y'see what I'm getting at there?

I tested out one of the two cables and it works perfectly fine. It's actually a *very* attractive cable and the 90-degree bend for the part that goes into my microphone is really neat!

Basically, they aren't for me, but they do work, and be sure to keep the length in mind.

5/5 stars.

This is an excellent XLR cable, with solid connectors and a tough wire.

For the amount of times I've had an XLR cable stuck right up against a wall, this is definitely something I wish I had earlier.

It allows me to reduce the wear on my cables and my devices' sockets, which is a huge plus.

Worth the trouble!

The Cable Matters 2-Pack Right Angle XLR Cables turned out to be just what I needed. Their length was spot-on for my setup, and I appreciated the flexibility to adjust the angle in 45° increments by simply unscrewing them. However, it's worth noting to handle this adjustment process with care to avoid damaging the wires inside.

What impressed me most was the overall value these cables provided. Despite being comparable in price to buying the fittings separately and making my own cables, these pre-made ones saved me time and effort. Additionally, the quality of the cable itself seems solid, though only time will tell just how durable they are. But for now, they're working perfectly fine and I'm satisfied with my purchase.

One aspect I particularly appreciate is that these cables feature standard fittings. This means that if I ever need to, I can solder my own cables onto them. This flexibility sets them apart from some other brands I've encountered, which have molded plastic fittings that cannot be soldered. With the Cable Matters cables, I have the assurance that I can replace the wires if needed without having to replace the entire connector assembly. Overall, this adds to the long-term value and versatility of these cables.

I didn't know that XLR cables with a 90-degree bend existed until recently. I've only ever seen the straight ones. The problem is, sometimes you get into a forest of cables with them all coming straight out and you can't see the labels on the equipment. I've had a few nights when something wasn't working and I pulled the wrong input or output because I could not read the label.

These cables solve that problem because, on most equipment, you can read the label above or below the 90-degree connector. What a great idea!

XLR cables are daisy-chainable, so if you need to extend the short ones, it's no problem. I have these 1-foot cables in my main gear bag for those tight spots that come along about every second night (well, before 2020 anyway; things are still a lot quieter, but I'm ready when it picks up!)

They are really well made with very solid ends and good quality cable. I tested them carefully before using them and they tested good and they sound great, which is admittedly not that much of a feat for a 1-foot cable, but you have to test beforehand.

I got these to allow me to use a right-angle XLR inside my boom-mounted blimp, and reclaim the straight-ended cable currently doing the job. Sadly, I couldn't do that as the tail-piece on the 90-deg connector is at least as long as a regular XLR connector, and wouldn't fit inside the bimp chassis. That's not a particular failing of the cable though, just that it doesn't fit my use-case. Having tested with the microphone outside the blimp, the sound quailty is the same as the other XLR cables in my kit, so I would be happy to use it should I ever need to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent (short/patch) cable

I ordered these cables because, for me they make a great patch cable between my 4 way mic mixer and full Yamaha mixer to extend microphone input channels.

Before making any connection to equipment, I ran through my cable tested to confirm proper connection of pins and opened to confirm good soldering and insulation (both tests got the thumbs up). On opening, I notice that Pin 1 (ground) is connected to the sleeve; this has been a bone of contention for those in the audio field for years. Most of the commercial leads I have bought are wired in this manner and seems to be supported by the audio industry. The cables I have made myself (and there are many) never have Pin 1 connected to the sleeve (I think because, in my early years, somebody told me that I should not). Despite hundreds of gigs with varying equipment and significant cable lengths, I have only once had any issue with any of my cables and that happened to be one with the Pin 1 connection to the sleeve. Cutting the connection, in that case solved the issue on the night but I think, in the end I was working with a piece of sketchy equipment. So, the jury is out for me and the manufacturer of these cables seem to be working to industry standards.

Having said all this, just for completeness, these are very well made and robust cables. They are short (33cm of cable if my measurement is correct) and I would class them as patch/interconnects rather than microphone cables unless perhaps you are using with a desktop microphone right next to a mixer. If you wanted to make use of the space saving right hand connector but needed a longer run , I guess to could daisy chain with a longer lead (providing it is wired identically).

These are a nice pair of patch cables that appear well made using good quality components.

I have one criticism of the female right-angled connector used. When plugged in, whether to a microphone, a cable or a socket on a piece of equipment, it has a couple of millimetres of play meaning it's not quite as firmly connected as most other cables and can result in a small amount of crackling if knocked. In most circumstances, it won't be a problem but there is more play than normal; more than I can find with any of my other mic cables. Without this issue, I would have rated it five stars.

My only other criticism is the excessive use of plastic packaging with each cable individually wrapped in a plastic bag and then the pair supplied in another zip-lock plastic bag.

At £14.99 for two short cables, it is a more expensive product but considering the use of premium components and attention to detail such as sleeving the individual soldered connections I think that is acceptable.
