Haven't been in the mood to make my own, the price of red cabbage and the other ingredients don't help either. Yes, it is imported but that shouldn't make it so expensive. At the local grocery store a compeditor brand also from Germany is only $2.99, unfortunately it flies off the shelves very quickly. I bought from amazon because I was a little slow to catch them with a butterfly net at the local grocery store. It's popular here.
The jar is a decent size, you won't be emptying it in one sitting or two. It also keeps it's flavor when reheated in a microwave.
Extremely well and carefully packaged by amazon employees - I ordered 3 jars and each had it's own bubble wrap protection.
If you are suffering a dose of "Heimweh" this will help cure.
If you have never tasted German pickled red cabbage, you should try it. Warning, it is addicting!
