For years I wasted time and money with inkjet printers. I don't print often enough, so the print nozzles would be blocked nearly every time I wanted to use the printer. Cleaning the nozzles would waste time and tons of ink. Usually the first clean wouldn't be enough and I'd have to do it over again and again. Some printers have the nozzles in the cartridge so you can just replace them, but then the cartridges cost more. Some have the nozzles in the printer, but if they are blocked and the clean doesn't work, your printer is now garbage. Some brands now are even complaining or refusing to function when you install generic cartridges instead of the expensive brand name ones.
I set up this new Brother laser printer, connected it to my computer and did a test print. It came out perfectly the FIRST time. Since then I've used it many times and every time it's perfect the FIRST time. No messing around, just does it's job. Sure, the colours aren't as vibrant as an inkjet but it's good enough for my use and the inkjets I've owned never printed photos without lines or other issues anyway. Toner is already dry powder so no worries about it drying up and clogging things. This is a great product with all the features I needed and it saves a lot of stress every time I use it compared to what I had before. It's a big printer but I had the space available. It's mostly tall, the base isn't much bigger than my old inkjet and I'm using the same table to hold it.
I've used Brother laser printers at work and they always work well. They never complain with generic toner and always produce good quality prints.
Hopefully this will be the last printer I'll need to buy until it stops being supported by future hardware or software.
