Using blink doorbell with sync module 2 so chose this for my backyard surveillance. Video quality and the features offered are amazing. Bonus is that the purchase provides you 1 month free cloud storage. Now back to local storage after a month. Single camera purchase comes pre-packed with sync mode but is of no use as I already have one. Could have sold separately for lesser price.

Bought this device to monitor a yard, adding it to a doorbell unit.
VERY clear video and strong IR. Not very obvious, even when IR mode.
Works like the doorbell, can have zones and motion alerts for recording!
Easy to setup, great over-the-phone support.

Requires proximity to WiFi AND the Module.
Keep this in mind when selecting the location you'd want this device in, as you'll need to have all the devices able to connect to both the WiFi and Sync Module to get the devices working.
Wish the Sync Module provided a WiFi Relay, but all in all, a WONDERFUL device with a MUCH lower price point to Ring.
Would recommend.

These are such great cameras. We live on a farm and have these set up around all the buildings. We haven't had any issues with the cameras outside and it can get to as low as -45 celsius here and as high as +35 celsius here.
They are super easy to set up, no wires, you just need wifi. Very clear picture, great night vision, and excellent motion detection. You just download the app on your phone and it notifies you right away anytime there's motion in your yard. It is very easy to record, save and share the videos to your phone or USB drive. They also have two way audio which is pretty neat and it also works with Alexa.
You can customize areas on the camera if you don't want that certain area to detect motion (example: we have a highway view from one of the buildings-so the camera would go off all the time as its a busy road, so we customized it, so it will only detect the motion if anyone turns in off that road into our yard)

Pros
Easy to set up, very budget friendly and app is simple enough to navigate. Picture quality is quite good as is night mode. Sound is really good too.

Cons
Basically locked into a subscription, it stopped recognizing my usb drive when I lapsed the sub and you lose quite a few features.
You are also stuck with buying single use Energizer Ultimate batteries. You can use rechargeable or other brands but will not display battery percentage correctly in app. You can wire them to an outlet which negates battery usage.
Motion sensor is basically the middle of the camera POV and tends not to trigger until that zone is activated, even with maximum sensitivity set

Was advertised as a system that can store to a flash drive without WiFi or Cloud. We bought it for a location that does not consistently have WiFi available. The entire system goes down and nothing saves when there isn't WiFi available. Advertising needs to be more clear.

Follow-up to previous review. We have been working with Blink Support and they determined there was a defect in the camera that affected the battery life. As a result, they sent us a new camera and all seems to be working well. Great support working through the issue. All other cameras we purchased are working well.

First I will say, we love our blink outdoor cameras and bought our first set in October. We liked them so much, we bought a second set at the end of November for further out in our yard so we had complete coverage of our property. However, the one camera had a battery life of approximately 3 weeks. We hardly received any motion detection due to the placement and time of year, since it's winter and not a lot of activity is expected in the area. So it wasn't that the camera was constantly on. We had a cold spell recently and suddenly received a notification that the battery was low. Two days later it was dead. Although we love the cameras, and have had no other issues, the battery life in this set is disappointing.

I now have all three versions of the cameras and use them in different locations around our property. The latest version has a much improved picture, particularly for the night vision. I find the response time is also better. I’ve had these for about a month now, so we’ll see how the battery life is overtime which would be my only complaint with the earlier versions. The lithium batteries are expensive! This version came with a pair of lithium batteries in the package for each camera (I can’t recall of previous versions did?).

The motion sensors work very well, and you can customize the zones where you don’t want them to pick up motion. This is particularly handy when you’re facing the street or pathway.

The cloud service works very well, and great to keep an eye on things while you’re traveling, or just away for the day at work. This version also comes with people recognition which tells you right on the app if the motion triggered was a person or an object such as a car.
