Here we have a miniature musashi tanto & a stand letter opener that measures 7.5" in length. It features a stainless steel blade, musashi style metal guard, a cord wrapped handle, dragon pommel, a lacquered wood scabbard and a traditional tanto stand. I would say 3 stars, but i was expecting this kind of quality with the price. You get what you pay for, actually surprised the blade didn't fall apart with this price. It's a nice novelty item, and does it's job. The handle and sheathe where in excellent condition, the blade however was dirty and scratched. Polished a bit, and good as new. Also here are some pics, for size reference to a keyboard. I know I was curious to size when I bought it.

Nice item for display and for use. Only thing is, it’s a little tight removing it from the scabbard, but that should ease thru time and use. Stand is cheap almost balsa wood type, so I will upgrade that.

Very nice looking Katana (mail opener). Blade is not sharp per se, in the sense of cutting you, but is plenty sharp to open letters. I haven't tried, but my guess is it could cut through boxing tape? The only concern I had was how tough it was to initially pull out of Saya (blade case). I thought it might have been glued in by accident, it was so tight. I was worried I was gong to break it when I was pulling to open it. Needless to say, by the pictures, it opened, and now is easy to slide in and out of Saya. Very sturdy and great value for the money spent.

Bought this as a gift for my hubby (paired with a history book about Japanese swords) and he absolutely loved it. The sword is surprisingly really well made for how inexpensive it is, and he loves that it comes with its own little display. The sword is actually fairly heavy for its size, which also makes it feel more expensive and well made than it might be. It's small enough that it fits perfectly on a bookshelf in our home - still a statement piece without taking up too much room (and also attractive enough to go with pretty much any decor). It came looking exactly like the picture. You have to assemble the display yourself and the display is a little wobbly, but if it's on a shelf it's stable and won't get knocked around. The blade isn't as sharp as say a chef's knife, but do you really want it to be when all you're doing is opening packages or envelopes with it? And for us we never use it; it's decoration more than anything. All in all, a great gift. Would highly recommend for any samurai sword fanatics in your life.
