I have been doing photography as a hobby for most of my life. Often more at times then others. I have had times where I didn’t do any photography for a few years. Since my kids have grown and left home I have done quite a bit more and finally got a longer lens for wildlife and bird photography.(Tamron 150-600 f/5-6.3 VC USD G2) I never owned a lens of this focal range or weight before. I very recently turned 70 which is why I purchased this Benro Monopod. I needed something to help me support the lens for period of longer shooting. This is a fantastic monopod as it is light to carry, is Arca Swiss and the head allows me a lot of freedom of movement when required. I have had cheaper monopods in the past and this one shows what I was missing with those. Everything just works right for me. From the single flip lock that allows easy length change when manipulating a large lens to the easy to carry weight.. The monopod is very strong and would easily hold a larger rig then mine.
Yes it isn’t cheap but I learned years ago that cheap just means you either buy more often to upgrade or you just don’t use cheap equipment. As a hobbyist I am frugal but sometimes a little more spent is still being frugal when what you get works right and well. This is the case here. Read online reviews for information but I can say that at the end of the day you won’t likely find a better monopod then this. Highly recommended.
