Having used the BENQ GW2760S monitor for over 8 years and enjoying its vibrant color and low blue light control technology, I decided to purchase an additional 27" 2k monitor for photo editing and high-resolution video enjoyment. Opting for a BENQ 27" 2k model with an IPS panel, I found it well built and ideal for web surfing. However, it didn't deliver much noticeable improvement in resolution for both high-pixel pictures and videos comparing to my GW2760S, so I replaced it with this 32-inch 4k version which proved to be a right decision made after a couple of weeks' testing.

The 32-inch 4k monitor does outperform the 27" 1080P model, particularly in photo editing, bringing out more details and making some mediocre photos look much more appealing. To ensure accurate color representation, I downloaded color profiles for the monitor from both BENQ and Itings websites and conducted a comparison. While the 32-inch VA 4K monitor meets the needs of most users, those with a more flexible budget might consider an IPS panel for its superior color uniformity and wider viewing angle.

In conclusion, I feel 4k resolution is perfect for 32" monitor. I trust the quality of BENQ monitors, and anticipate that this new monitor will continue to serve me well for another 8+ years.

I purchased this to use for working from home with my macbook and (so far) its a fantastic monitor, particularly at this price point. I don't game, so I can't speak to colour depth or black blacks but as a work oriented monitor its a perfect choice for me. I am running it at full 4k resolution, no flickering or bleeding and I can read the small text perfectly.

The only thing that it doesn't do that I wish it did was charge my macbook using the USB-C connection, and have a built in USB hub since macbook don't come with "normal" usb anymore. So, i have to plug in three usb-c cables, one for power, one for the monitor and one for the hub. Not ideal but obviously not benq's issue.

The picture is beautifull, colours are great, brightness is great too maybe not enough for an amazing HDR experience but with a screen that close to your face a brighter screen would be too bright for the eyes. It has freesync over hdmi, low input lag, speakers and simple settings controle. The only cons i can see is that you can't customize the picture settings while HDR is activated and the stand is barely ajustable.

If you want a good 4K monitor for Xbox One X or PS4 Pro, buy this one !!

~~~Review for BenQ 24" EW2480~~~
I've had this monitor for a around 6 weeks now. Honestly, it's a pretty damn good budget monitor. It gets bright, colours look vibrant, text on screen is crisp and easy to read, has built in speakers with a headphone jack, buttons on the bottom and not the back, lightweight, adjustable Gamma and color saturation, mounted to my desk mount with zero issues, turns on quick from power save setting, supports AMD FreeSync (Does not support Nvidia Gsync, there's no Display Port)- Overall a solid monitor that has the entry level essentials you need.
My peeves with the monitor is that some IPS glow can be rather noticeable on dark backgrounds, although far from the worst I've seen. Multiple buttons at the bottom can be clunky to use and would prefer a joystick with a couple customizable hotkeys. It could benefit from a couple fully custom picture modes. The included stand is limited to tilt. Also, when selecting 75hz it creates faint vertical lines on blue and yellow colours. It's strange, I'v seen people mention this flaw on other budget monitors. It's one of those flaws that you don't immediately notice. I was on Best Buy's website and I noticed that the Best Buy yellow tag logo and the blue header looked more pixelated than normal. So I leaned towards the screen and saw faint vertical lines. When I switched the refresh rate back to 60hz, those lines disappeared. It's not noticeable on everything, just some things. I'm not sure what causes this, but I'm leaving it at 60hz going forward.
Other thoughts is that I wished it had a black equalizer setting for FPS games as I like making shadows non existent to gain an advantage, oh well. Although, changing Gamma to 1.8 does a good job at making dark areas easier to navigate. It's very close to my Asus TN panel when set to Gamma 1.8 surprisingly. Except with the extra benefit of having better colours. The monitor can be rather bright at times for my sensitive eyes when I'm in a dim room, even with brightness and contrast almost at 0. I've remedied this by reducing the RGB color values. This didn't ruin the colors, just allowed the screen to dim beyond what the Brightness/Contrast setting allowed. Also the "HDRi" is a gimmick, don't buy this monitor if you think the HDR is going to be good. It just oversaturates the colors, I leave this setting off permanently. They're just marketing this to lure unaware buyers into thinking they're getting a useful feature.
So overall, pros and cons here..just like every monitor. However, I think this is one of the better budget monitors on the market currently. I've pretty well scanned through every major retailers offerings, and this monitor at the $180-220 price range is one of the best. If it ever goes lower than that it's a steal. I even went to some retail stores and messed around with their monitor settings and analyzed their picture quality. Again, this BenQ came out on top at its price range, and even looked better than some monitors costing much more. As long as you keep your expectations in check and you're somebody that is looking for a solid side monitor, perhaps work from home and read a lot of text, using it for console/casual PC gaming, buying it for a kid, this is a solid monitor choice. If you're somebody that wants the lowest input lag, lowest motion blur, high refresh rates, several custom picture profiles, don't want to invest into an adjustable monitor stand, then consider a different monitor. Otherwise, I think the average consumer will really enjoy what this monitor has to offer.
This has fantastic picture quality, and it's well made. It's easy to adjust the tilt but be aware it does not have swivel or height adjust. I have two of them but did not pay the full $700 original price: I found them on sale. They seem to go on sale often so shop around. I think I paid $500. I've had them for several months and I'm using them in a dual monitor setup. Games and movies look incredible! OF NOTE: I have been recovering from a concussion and have related issues looking at computer screens. I'm using the low blue light option on both screens and I have noticed I can use the screens longer without triggering my concussion symptoms. This may not work for others, but it's worth noting!
Perfect size and I love how the screen does not hurt my eyes as others may have. The first one got damaged during a move and had to buy the same one. I don't do gaming so can't speak of that part but for work, it is ideal for me.
ESTE MONITOR LO RECOMIENDO PARA GENTE COMO YO QUE DESEA VER HASTA EL MÁS MINIMO DETALLE EN LOS JUEGOS, CON UNA BUENA GAMA DE COLORES Y QUE SE CONFORMA CON JUGAR SHOOTERS EN BUENA CLIDAD A 4K A 60FPS - NO ES UN MONITOR PARA JUEGO COMPETITIVO.
Llevo un par de semanas jugando en el, específicamente en una SERIES X
Y francamente lo único que puedo decir es WOW, lo digo ya que di el salto de una TV55" FULL HD a un monitor 4K con HDR, y estoy fascinado.
Empecemos por los colores de monitor, pese a no ser un monitor IPS la representación de colores es exquisita, los juegos con colores vividos y saturados lucen preciosos, toda una delicia al jugar, no te faltara realismo en los colores.
El tamaño: Como lo comentaba, de estar jugando en una TV55" el cambio a uno de 32" Fue notable pero para bien, al ser un monitor y trabajar cerca de el no pierdes detalles, no he notado pixeles y aunque lo recomendable en monitores así de grandes es que sean curvos, créanme, no lo necesitaran, las equinas se ven perfectas como el resto del monitor, y no es necesario girar la cabeza para apreciar los detalles presentes en las esquinas del monitor, también por el tamaño lo utilizo como TV ya que esta en mi habitación, y no falla, cumple la función pese a que no sea lo más recomendable.
Funciones del monitor:
El monitor cuenta con un buen menú para calibrar colores, escoger modos de imagen, en ese aspecto estoy satisfecho
Tiene bocinas incluidas las cuales sinceramente no he probado, pase de largo de ellas ya que tengo unas bocinas que decidí conectar directamente a la entrada de audífonos 3.5 que incluye el monitor
La función de Eyecare es buenísima, cumple y no te cansa la vista, aunque soy un poco exigente con los colores por lo que de vez en cuando cuando quiero disfrutar de una toma en algún juego, lo desactivo para tener los colores FULL
HDR: El monitor viene con una función HDR que emula si es que tu dispositivo no permite HDR, es una función muy buena, el nivel de saturación y contraste son de 10 por lo que recomiendo el monitor pese a no tener un dispositivo que reproduzca contenido HDR
Ahora bien, donde creo queda mal es con el SERIES X, al activar la opción de HDR 10 en el XBOX hay algunos juegos como RDR2 el HDR nativo de XBX hace más opaca la imagen, mas grisácea, y podrían decir que es mi error de calibración dentro del juego pero no es así , y hay que sumarle que cuando un dispositivo reproduce HDR nativo, el monitor bloquea las configuraciones y solo puedes mover parámetros como HDR o HDR Cinematográfico, y ya, eso me disgusto un poco
Como conclusión:
He dejado unas imágenes adjuntas para que vean la diferencia entre usar HDR Nativo o Emulado en el monitor vs estas opciones desactivadas, y la diferencia es abismal, en serio es la noche y el día, no se como pude estar jugando sin HDR, tan solo un juego muy común GTAV se ve asombroso en HDR Emulado pese a no tener ningún tipo de optimización.
El monitor Incluye un cable:
USB C A USB C un poco porto en mi opinión
Alimentación
Displayport a DPMini con un tamaño moderado
No incluye HDMI
Estoy encantado con el, definitivamente la mejor compra 10/10
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Second Monitor for iMac
Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2021
Size: 27 InchStyle: 60 Hz | QHD | IPSPattern Name: PremiumConfiguration: EyeCare Tech | Advanced Smart Adaptive Sensor | HDRi Tech | 5W SpeakersVerified Purchase
Purchased this to go along with my 2015 iMac. Few things to understand, buy a displayport to thunderbolt2 cable. Only truly supported option for full resolution on this generation of Mac. The size of the iMac desktop is always set to 1440p. They say 5k but it is impossible to view such a small resolution. This is why this monitor is a perfect second monitor for a mac desktop. A 4k screen is not necessary. Other than higher dpi or better backlight options 1440 or 2k is the best option for a 27inch monitor. Emulated Hdr is ok but not necessary as the monitor doesnt have the peak nits to achieve true Hdr. People complain about the stand or lack of ergonomics i bought the amazon basics monitor arm. Perfect adjustment for an affordable price. I think it brought the total to around $350 for everything. Plan on getting another one for a full 3 monitor setup. Being used for daytrading setup, so perfect resolution. If you're doing any fancy video editing i would purchase the next level up of Benq monitor. This however is perfect for Clerical and regular display use. I use the iMac speakers because you don't need both. They aren't great but if you had nothing else these are fine, maybe buy a small desktop speaker if the Benq is by itself and you want an upgrade. Not for gaming or editing but perfect for work from home or school option. I included a few pics from first setup to compare the quality vs the Imac screen.
5.0 out of 5 stars Cuidado, este no es el EX2780Q, en realidad es el EW2780Q
Este modelo tiene una tasa de actualización de 60Hz, es muy bueno para consumo multimedia pero no para gaming, a menos que lo uses en una consola, en pocas palabras va enfocado a creadores de contenido, el brillo es batstante alto y el HDRi te da una experiencia muy símilar a usar ReShade en juegos, cambia el material original pero subjetivamente se ve mejor, el tiempo de respuesta para jugar no deja nada que desear, se siente responsivo pero obviamente falta una alta tasa de refresco como la del modelo EX2780Q, recordando que este en realidad es el EW2780Q, 1440p a 27" es una densidad de pixeles más que suficiente para disfrutar del contenido a unos 100cm de distancia, por cierto el apartado para soporte vesa es de 100x100mm y trae los 4 tornillos necesarios icluídos.
5.0 out of 5 stars Rough Start But Amazing Customer Service Saves The Day!
UPDATE 1-3-19:
As mentioned below I had my monitor replaced by BenQ due to an HDR defect. They have some of the best customer service I have experienced in a long time. They helped me out very quickly and with no hassle at all. I've been using their new replacement monitor since my original review date and haven't had any issues. I cant confirm that the firmware was indeed updated and that this was the issue as the monitor does not list the firmware version anywhere for me to compare. The monitor does however work as desired and their 3 year warranty and amazing customer service has warranted me to change my review from 3 to 5 stars.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Read the reviews for this specific monitor, A significant number of people are having repetitive HDR issues.
I ordered the product because it had a great review rating, I didn’t even bother to look into them much but wish I would have now. overall my final view of this product is going to based on how BenQ deals with the situation and if the monitor i receive fixes my issues.
Had this monitor for 3 months before the issues started. During this time the monitor was pretty great, rich colors and great for gaming, very responsive. The colors were a little off especially with blacks which aren’t very deep. Other than that, the HDR and 4k were very nice, it was nothing much more or less than you’d expect for a $400 gaming monitor until I ran into this issue.
The issue came when I turned my monitor on one day and all of a sudden, all the colors that were in HDR mode were washed out and flat. After reading carefully on Amazon and in forums I noticed that a lot of people have this issue with this specific monitor. You don’t see it reflected as much in the reviews because all the BenQ product reviews are twitstered together. This means that the star rating and reviews you see for this product are not all actually for this product, its for all the twistered products together. I contacted Amazon about it and unfortunately as of late at least, their chat customer service is getting increasingly more difficult to deal with and far less helpful than they used to be, every person you talk to gives you different answers and reasons as to why they decided they cant help you. So I contacted BenQ instead and their customer service was pretty Amazing. They had a new monitor being shipped to me within minutes of me contacting them and the monitor has a 3 year warranty. Their service is very good, I was very surprised at how fast they were and how easy they were to work with. Andy L. in their service department was really great and his service changed my mind completely about wanting to keep this product or buy future BenQ products.
Ill update this post with any new information after I receive my monitor. BenQ told me that the HDR issue is most often caused by firmware which makes me feel a little better.
5.0 out of 5 stars perfect monitor for consoles
Initially i did not liked this monitor. Colors were too saturated out of the box and whichever setting i use ,it did not workout for me. Additionally HDR would turn ON for somegames (forza horizon 3 , forza motorsport 7 ) when HDR was ON game looks good but the brightness of monitor was so high that it was too much for a dark room.
But but but .. Benq has a Ace in their sleeves here which no other monitor has. its Brightness Intelligence.. Its nothing but auto brightness. Initially i ignored this as usually I tune the monitor as per my needs. But the BI feature along with HDR works perfectly here. The issue I had with high brightness earlier in dark room while gaming is no longer their when BI is on. It auto adjusts screen brightness based on lighting in the room. You can also see a BI meter on the bottom right whenever it adjusts the brightness.
This is how you should use this monitor, with HDR+BI ON. Colors are accurate with HDR ON, blacks are black. Forza motorsport 7 felt like a new game to me, though i played it earlier on a LG 24 inch 4K monitor (non HDR).
HDR emulation is also perfect for non HDR games, in fact Red dead redemption 2 looks super realistic and amazing with HDR emulation than in game HDR feature. :P
32 inch is perfect for 4K monitor to play in a living room. You can sit comfortably in the couch and game. Earlier i used a 24 inch 4K monitor which required that i need to sit close- upfront with monitor. I also had a 43 inch 4K HDR samsung TV but did not liked it because - more the screen size lesser the ppi. 32 inch has perfect ppi density for 4K gaming.
Other than monitor had great build quality, a great stand. Bit of bezel but it does not matter. VA panel is superb with perfect black levels and hardly i see any back light bleed. Though its not as great OLED screens , you are paying much less. For 35k you will not find anywhere else with such a awesome HDR enabled panel in a combination of 4ms response time.
Go for it if you are in for a great monitor for you xbox one x and ps4 pro.
