Very nice looking washboard, sturdy but finish a bit rough, but a bit of sanding, solved that. Also stained the wood and now looks great. Going to hang in the laundry room. Liked the size of this washboard as the wall in the room is quite big and didn’t want a tiny toy looking washboard.

Well, I will start off by saying that this washboard is so good that we purchased one for a friend who wanted one. I actually use mine though and it is missing the proper ledge where the soap should rest for easy washing. But that was so easy just to grab a couple of little nails and put the right little wood inset in to do the job. It will last forever - but should something happen to it - this is the one I would get again. :)

The washboard is made with good materials, mind you I was a bit nervous with the small finishing nails or brad nails. I was soon relieved when I noticed they are simply to reinforce the already strong wood construction. I have washed clothes many times on it, and it works great!

I purchased the washboard as wall decor for the laundry room. It is very authentic looking, and is probably quite functional as the washboard material itself seems of high quality. My only negative comments would have to do with the assembly - it appears not a lot of care was taken to assure that the component pieces were properly lined up before nailing them together. I may try to punch the nails through and reassemble it. As stated, I think it's a quality product, just not perfectly put together. Otherwise I'd have given it 5 stars.

I remember my Mom having one of these with a big old wash tub for laundry when I was little. Honestly, I never thought I’d be reviewing an item like this but, with all that’s been going on in the world since (March 2020) I think preparations are key. An old school washboard is a sound investment for any family because you never know when power goes down or an emergency will happen in my mind having something for a “rainy day” is better than looking for an umbrella in the rain.

I like to use this to remove stains from clothing before I wash them. I apply a bar soap to the the clothing that has had water applied to it and then scrub the stain on the wash board. It gently removes the stains.

Works great. Only complaint is that one side of the top wooden piece was not entirely secured- the nail going through on one side didn’t quite secure the top piece. When I hung it on the wall, the top wooden piece came off on one side.

Honestly seemed like a fluke to me. Secured it with another nail and works wonderfully otherwise. The board is nice and sturdy and can handle lots of pressure while washing items. The loose board piece did not affect the overall sturdiness of the washboard in any way. The board is framed nicely and assembled well.

As far as use, it works perfectly. The metal piece saves so much time and effort in hand washing. It’s the perfect size to lean over a bathtub or utility sink. I’ve been hand washing a lot of laundry for months due to irregular access to wash machine, and it cuts the time to a fraction.

So when I ordered this I was expecting a much smaller washboard. Not that I wanted one, I just figured that for the super low price I'd be getting a small/ low quality one. Well when I got home my roomate(who washes his clothes at the laundromat!) had brought the washboard inside from the front porch and placed it at my door. The packaging was interesting, it was basically a large piece of cardboard, folded in half with the washboard inside, taped on all sides to keep the item from slipping or falling out. To my surprise the packaging really kept the washboard safe, and when I opened it up low and behold, the washboard was in absolutely PERFECT condition! It's made out of really solid and good quality wood, and is put together using not just nails, but notches to give added strength. Even though the dimensions are on the item info, it's hard to get an idea of how big it is. let me tell you, it's big(but not too big, don't worry) and is not a cheap low quality thing. This is a solid, well made, and effective washboard. I just used it today to do about 3 days of wash(I like to wash frequently to reduce load amount) and it really helped get some stains from the back of the collar of a white shirt out. For the most part there were not stains on my clothes besides that, but I could tell that scrubbing the clothes on this washboard(versus rubbing the clothing item on itself for friction) make the clothes cleaner and was easier on the fabric. Also with the added friction from the washing board I need less soap. To wrap it all up, I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS WASHBOARD to anyone who is considering it. It is awesome, trust me.
