Tips to Set It Up
- A few Android phones need to enable the "OTG" setting to ensure connection successfully.
- Some Android phones need to download "Open Camera" App to replace the default Camera App.
- MacBook/iMac require "Sound Input" setting to be external USB Microphone "USBAudio1.0”
OTG feature allows Android Phones to connect external devices directly. Some smartphones‘ OTG setting is off by default, such as few Samsung models that require you to enable it manually.
When cellphone's default camera App doesn't support wireless microphone connection, please download "Open Camera" App and set it as follow:
"Video setting"->"Audio source"->"External mic(if present)"
Windows PC can auto change the sound input to make wireless microphone work. However, MacBook/iMac needs to select sound input device to "USBAudio1.0” manually.
NOTICE:
- For some branded camera, such as Sony Camera, it should turn down the recording volume from max to get better sound quality.
- We suggest you to copy the recording files to PC to listen the playback, since sound quality of playback on camera is low and distort.

After a little bit of troubleshooting, no prob!
So the picture attached is what I got. I wanted something easy to use, basic plug and play. It paired with the device that inserts into my phone just fine, but I had a little bit of trouble with the phone switching to this mic. What I did was go into my android camera settings and just switch the mic setting to external mic and it let me use my basic camera app without installing anything else.Overall good for what I paid for. I didn't test this outside on a windy day but the recording indoors, walking into different rooms etc, the sound quality was still good.
