Does Roadie 3 work on instruments besides the guitar?

Absolutely! Roadie is compatible with ukuleles, banjos, mandolins and any instrument with guitar machine heads fitted with strings of gauge up to 75. Other instruments that can be tuned with Roadie 3 include lap steel guitars, pedal steel guitars, dobro square neck, and dobro round neck. Check Roadie Bass for tuning bass guitars or other instruments with a string gauge up to 140.

What is the difference between Roadie 3 and other Roadies?

I read reviews on the Roadie 2 and decided to try the Roadie 3.
I am impressed by this little device, in every way.
- Using it is so easy and quick, and tuning with the Roadie 3 is so satisfying (I love the beep and haptic feedback)!!
- The Roadie comes in a small box (pictured above), with the tuner, a quick start guide and a USB-C cable.
- It came came partially charged, so I able to start tuning within seconds. Each string takes about 5-7 seconds.
- It's very easy to switch to alternate tunings (comes preloaded with many options and you can create your own).
- It's made of high quality material, which feels solid and sturdy.
- It also comes with an intuitive color LED screen to navigate the menu and different tools and settings
- I also love that it has a built-in metronome (highly customizable), which reduces the number of things I have to carry around.
- I tried using it in very noisy environments (much louder than the video in the review), and it tuned my guitar with no issues.
- You can download a free app which allows for more customization and keeps the Roadie up to date as new firmware updates are released

I would highly recommend this tuner to anyone who plays a guitar (or other string instruments), beginners and pros alike. It's easily worth every $ and makes for an excellent gift!

I cannot recommend this product enough. First of all, this tuner has an unbeatable cool factor and it is sure to become a conversation starter at any gathering. But more importantly, I tuned my Taylor acoustic and my friend's classical guitar in under a minute each and the accuracy is second to none. There is a different preset for both acoustic and classical guitar (among tons of other instruments), which I thought was great.
The huge library of alternate tunings is amazing, and so much fun to explore. I got lost for hours trying out tunings I never knew existed. As an added little surprise, there is a built-in metronome that works flawlessly.

I recommend downloading the companion app, where you can save instrument profiles, all the way down to brand name. The whole thing was super easy to set up and the build quality of the Roadie is high. This is also a HIGHLY giftable product, not just to beginners but to seasoned performers as well. Love it!

Easy to use right out of the box and a few instructional videos later. Once I used it a few times it became second hand. Good alternative tunings from beginner to pro. (I'm not a pro) Named my 4 guitars for quick find on tuner. I tried the accurate setting and even though it did tune it more precise it was a bit more fidgety and took a considerable amount of trys. I set it to fast and didn't notice the difference. (Not a pro) It was a complete amazement that my 12 string never sounded so good. It took all of about 2 min to tune it twice. Usually 10 to 15min easy from an online app. Now I tune it everytime I play and and play it more often! I downloaded the app from playstore really but haven't explored all the possibilities yet. Some comments were that it didn't tune up to the note but it came with that option in the settings. Roadie 3 must have fixed that setting. Bonus! If you ever not played a song because of 1/2 step down or up, drop d, open e, open g tuning this will be your best friend. It opens up a whole new world playing with friends and around the campfire. Quick alternative tuning and boom, next song. Even in the dark or with low light. Metronome not very loud so if your playing, play soft or you won't hear it. Maybe a bug fix?
I paid $169.cdn +tax for the Roadie 3 so if you can get it for a little bit cheaper, grab it, you won't be disappointed. The ONLY reason for the 4 stars.

Great little unit with excellent build quality. Many tunings to choose from. Will adjust your strings automatically and relatively quick with little to no effort. Tunes my Les Paul in less than 15 seconds.
The C# Standard tuning is currently incorrect but the Devs will fix it soon. It was reported. Also, App has some bugs like custom tuning sync but should get addressed in the next update. Reported this and I was going to give it 4 stars but the App is separate and should be considered a bonus. The tuner/winder is what matters most and it is functioning as it should. A+

I was skeptical before buying this but it works really well! I find myself WANTING to tune my guitar because it's so easy. I also love how easy it is to store and swap between alternate tunings. Before buying this I would rarely if ever use alternate tunings because they are such a pain to switch between. I find the Roadie helps me be more creative by making those tunings much more accessible to me. I would definitely consider this a "treat yourself" item, but hey, you deserve it. Right? :)

This is a cool little product. I really like it for my 12-string acoustic guitar. The good: easy to use. So many alternate tunings. Can be used with any stringed instrument. It is accurate. I don't know if it is perfect, but I compared it to my headstock tuner, and 3 of the strings are dead on, and 3 are just a little bit off. I don't know which tuner is wrong, and which is right, but they are incredibly close, and my ear can't tell the difference. Having a metronome included is cool. The Bad: It is a little awkward to use on the G,B, and E strings on guitars with headstocks with 3 pegs on either side of the headstock. G is the hardest to do, but you get used to it. I doubt there is any way they can improve that, so it isn't really a big negative for me. I haven't used the feature yet, but I think where this thing really pays for itself is alternate tuning. It doesn't require a lot of thought to quickly get to an alternate tuning. It does require some initial programming, but the menu is pretty intuitive, so not an issue. I haven't used the winding feature yet either, but I am sure that will be my favorite feature. The metronome is cool. I have only used it once, but I sat it on the stand next to me, and the vibration feature made it spin in a circle. I was afraid it was going to fall off the stand, but it just sat there and spun around. all in all, excellent product.

This Roadie is brilliant. I’ve always tuned my guitar with a clip on tuner. When I used the roadie3 the clip on shows different levels but the guitar sounds the best ever. Download the app and it’s so easy to use. It will also restring very quickly and to correct tuning level although I have not tried this yet. The booklet which accompanies the tuner also shows you how to correctly restring your instrument. Love it.
