I originally bought this to trigger my dehumidifier to turn on and off in my basement. I had been running it strictly on a set schedule but believed that I would be able to save some energy by actually running it based on humidity levels. For this purpose this sensor works flawlessly, I was able to set a routine through Alexa to turn on my dehumidifier at a set level and then turn it off at another level. The humidity value is accurate as compared to my other (non-smart) sensors.I did not believe that I would find the other monitored values helpful but I was wrong. Just this morning I noticed that the VOC value shot up and I was able to find a leaking aerosol can in the room next to the sensor, had I not had this monitor I would not have noticed this until later in the evening and likely it would have made a mess and deteriorated the air quality in our house. I'm sure I'll also find a use for the temperature sensor if I decide to add a heater to that side of my basement for winter and I love that I can monitor C0 values from my phone when I'm away.I highly highly recommend this product. I wish I bought it sooner honestly.

The Amazon Smart Air Quality Monitor is an essential device with a reasonable price point for anyone concerned about the quality of their indoor air. In addition to this, I also own air quality monitors from Airthings and IKEA. The one I have from IKEA is cheap but also with the most basic monitor. I like Airthings products a lot but they’re also significantly more expensive. I find Amazon Smart Air Quality Monitor to be the best value all things considered.

It provides valuable insights into five key factors: particulate matter (PM), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), carbon monoxide (CO), humidity, and temperature. With this monitor, you can easily track and measure these parameters to ensure a healthier living environment. Compared to my Airthings Wave Plus, this doesn’t measure Radon, CO2, and air pressure. However, my Wave Plus also lacks PM and CO monitor on the other hand. Considering Airthings Wave Plus costs about 3 times more, I’m happy with what it offers.

The air quality monitor dashboard is built-in Alexa. Setup with Alexa is straightforward, making it accessible to users of all technical abilities. Once connected, you can conveniently check the air quality score in the Alexa app, which provides an easy-to-understand assessment of your indoor air quality. The fact that this is using Alexa has both pros and cons to it. The cons is that it takes a few more clicks to get to see what you care about the most especially if you don’t already use Alexa for other purposes. The pros are that this doesn’t require one additional app if you are already an Alexa user and plan to use other integrated features such as Routine. E.g. you can turn on the air purifier when the air quality drops, or turn on the dehumidifier when the humidity is too high.

I also found this Amazon Air Quality monitor to be very accurate. I see it’s giving very consistent data when I put it side by side with other air quality monitors I own. Overall, I find this Amazon Smart Air Quality Monitor to be a reliable and valuable device for monitoring and improving the air quality at home. With its comprehensive tracking capabilities, easy-to-understand data, and integration with Alexa and other smart devices, it helps me to take action to create a healthier living environment.

Overall this is a good air quality monitor and is pretty sensitive. It's quiet, unobtrusive (for the most part) and just does it's thing, but there are a few things to be aware of ... It takes a day or so to calibrate and anytime you move it or power it off it has to redo this calibration so this sensor is not really meant to be moved around room to room ... The power adapter that comes with it is a bit chubby, I had an issue fitting it on my power bar. It does not support 5GHZ WIFI, only 2.5. This can ONLY be used with the Amazon Alexa app on your phone/tablet. The CO is NOT certified so don't plan on using it as a CO monitor. The LED on the unit is quite bright, you can turn it off, but if the air quality gets bad, the red light comes on irrelevant of if you have turned the LED off. Worth noting if it's in a bedroom ... It's a little expensive, but probably competitive for what it does.
