I have mixed feelings about Mama Bear diapers. While they have some positive aspects, there are a few issues that I have encountered.

One of the main concerns I have is the change in quality. I noticed that the recent batches of Mama Bear diapers are not as absorbent as they used to be. This has led to leakage issues, especially during the night when my little one needs the most protection. It can be frustrating to wake up to a wet bed and baby.

I have used this brand for years with my oldest and now with my second. This brand has been great! Affordable and no harsh chemicals. Size has been just okay. But this recent batch of size 3 I received for my baby is defective. The tabs won’t stick to the front of the diaper making it useless. I’ve also noticed that the thickness of the diaper has decreased recently too.

I love these Mama Bear diapers!! They are about the cheapest you can find at .17 cent each! (the Kroger brand, Comforts, is .15 cents each but not near the quality of these) They are both soft and absorbent. Other reviews say they leak but I’ve had little to no problem with this. If they are leaking for your little one you may want to size up. My 13 month old has never really had big blowouts though, and I tend to change more frequently as a personal preference. Also to note, I make sure to change him first thing in the morning because a full diaper cannot hold up to a bowel movement. These work great for us and I’ll continue to buy them for all my babies! So thankful for an affordable option that works so well.

We typically use Honest brand diapers but found we had leak issues with the longer night stretches as we got closer to the upper end of the weight range. Our daughter was just a little too small to move to the next size up though. As such we switched to the Mamma Bear brand for the time she was in between Honest sizes as the Mamma Brand was slightly bigger. This worked great when our daughter was in newborns sizes but not so well in size 1. She’s 11 pounds (well under the weight limit of size 1) and these diapers have leaked three times now in just the past two days of using them. We definitely put the diapers on correctly so it’s not user error. I just don’t think their ruffling system is as effective as other brands. They work okay during most of the day but on her longer stretches they have been a problem. I’m a bit annoyed by this because you have to buy such a large amount of them. Such a waste!
