Product description

Fitbit charge 5 + premium connects the dots between your activity, sleep and stress so you can make the best decisions for your body, mind and health. It all starts with your 6-month premium membership and daily readiness, a score based on activity, sleep and heart rate variability (hrv) that helps you optimize your workout routine. Your score comes with personalized activity recommendations: low means go easy and recover—light yoga, deep breathing—while a high score gives you the green light to go all out. Enhance your recovery routine with advanced stress-management tools like the on-wrist eda sensor. Stay ahead of heart health with atrial fibrillation (afib) heart rhythm assessments using the on-wrist ecg app. And you’ll always have motivation to reach new goals with hundreds of guided workouts, a gallery of refreshing mindfulness sessions plus the fitness features you know and love like active zone minutes and built-in gps.

Good if you don't expect extra
My previous device was a Mi Band, so this was a pricey upgrade. Before buying this band I recommend watching guy on Youtube called The Quantified Scientist. TLDR this band is not accurate enough to track every claimed vital sign it supports in a useful way. However this is as accurate as you can get if you can't use Apple Watch or don't want to get a smart watch with a day of battery life. What I like about Charge 5:- Battery Life: without always-on display lasts about a week, charges quickly.- Heart Tracking: reliably collects information throughout day and night, graph could be viewed in app, shows resting heart rate on the watch to track your overall fitness shape.- Display: bright, high contrast, responsive, can be used in sunlight.- Notifications: Very well spaced, can even preview an email without having to check my phone.- Step Tracking: no concerns- Interface: intuitive, can quickly examine most stats- Sleep Tracking: sleep time is accurate most of the time, detects automatically.- Customization: good choice of third-party straps.- Design: minimalistic and compact, fits very naturally opposite to bulky smartwatches. What holds it back:- NFC: does not support many Canadian Banks, does not support Google Wallet integration for transit passes (renders feature useless)- Workout Tracking: lack of automatic activity type detection, not much insights, not many modes.- ECG/EDA: hard to use sensors that require holding sides of the tracker for a long period of time. Frequently causes heartbeat sensor to lose contact with skin which renders last 30s-3minutes of data useless- No Music Storage/Controls.- Weak vibration: not enough for an alarm to wake me up- Paid Subscription to view and track stats, not justified for what it provides- Small set of features overall, lack of integrations and customizationsOverall, if you are looking for a wearable device that will track your daily activities and sleep with decent accuracy, will let you keep track of your notifications and goals in a compact package with good battery life and bright screen, Charge 5 should be suited for you. For its price however, it should offer much more to stand out against comparable devices and to be a product I could recommend for anyone.

I bought the Fitbit Charge 6 as a replacement for my wife's Fitbit One which she had for 8 years without any problems in spite of being through the washer twice and it continued to work properly. It has only been recently that the old Fitbit started to lose it's charge quickly and the lack of certain features indicated it was time for an upgrade. The Fit Bit charge 5 offers a host of new features to measure your heart, O2 levels and sleep activities. Very simple to setup and syc the new device to the app. My wife has a small wrist so I was concerned that the unisex strap that comes with the Fitbit might to be to big. So I bought a set of extra straps just in case. It turns out the strap that comes with the device can be adjusted to fit a smaller wrist. i am hoping this Fit Bit performs as well as the last one. So far so good.

I would buy again. Very satisfied. I had the previous Charge (can't remember the model, I think it was a Charge 3). The display had faded quite a bit. I was impossible to see the screen in the sun. So, I decided to buy a Charge 5 since the display looked a lot better and is in colur. I was not dissapointed. the displa is great and can be seen in the sun "loud and clear". Also, the Charge 5 is probably the best quality/price fitness watch based on what I have read. I do like the "watch" like design. It is not too big so I can wear it with a nice dress and it looks good. I replace the original bracelet with a black leather bracelet though which makes a big difference. It may sound strange but my next choice was the Apple watch which is way more expensive. However, I have an Android phone and the Apple watch does not support Android. Hoping this review will help you.

The Fitbit helps me work on improving my sleep patterns. Gives me monthly feedback on the changes I make.
Had problems with the original strap. Possibly an allergy to the strap material. Changed it to a more breathable strap and I no longer have problems.

Fitbit started to turn on and off, randomly drained after charging, so it was not working.Spoke with fitbit and no interventions worked. Was told I'm eligible for a replacement. Fill out forms and heard nothing after 9 days. Contact again and told they'd fast track and follow up, no follow up happened . Contacted again yesterday, told they sent the return label, I got nothing, not in spam and I regularly been checking for this exact reason. Told they open a new case and I'd be hearing from them, at this moment still have heard nothing. Maybe snail mail label would be better if you can't get email messages right. Come on fitbit, my generic fit band is more reliable. If you don't like to give a replacement don't offer it. I'd like a refund!

This is my 4th fitbit in 8 years. The original fitbit broke so many times, it couldn't be fixed, so I bought a Fitbit charge 2 to replace it. It still works, but I am unable to read it when outside. So I bought a Fitbit 4 2 years ago, and suddenly the plastic part that hold the wristband on broke off. The watch itself is perfectly fine, so it is such a shame that I can't fix/wear it. The Fitbit charge 5 works well, is 80% accurate to step counting, and only has to be recharged weekly. Hope it lasts a long while!

I had used fitbit charge 3, which was too much accurate. I lost it, so purchased a latest model in that series, charge 5. After few days, I noticed that, it was showing all indicators wrong except time.
And after use of just 6 months, its battery came down to only 1%. Not showing anything on display. After a charging of 10 to 12 hrs, it's battery percentage is only 1 %.
I contacted to fitbit team, they asked me to clean the fitbit unit. Also I followed all instructions given by them. Though but it doesn't work.
Finally team personnel told me that they would give me replacement. Almost one month have passed, I am waiting for replacement. Meanwhile I wrote 8 -9 emails, they just ask me to wait.
Now I realised that, they will not give any replacement to me.

So worst product and level 3 service. Don't buy such cheap product.

Update: 3 months after the last replacement, the unit has failed again

This is my wife's 5th Fitbit over the years. I keep trying to get her an Apple Watch, but she likes the Fitbit as it last much longer on battery.
So she's had fitbit2 (2 of them) Fitbit 3, Fitbit 5 (2 of them)

None of them have lasted more than 2 years. The Fitbit 2 and 5 failed after just one year and were replaced under warranty.

Fitbit customer service is absolutely hopeless to deal with, and they will take days to approve a replacement under warranty.

Luckily I bought the Fitbit 5 through Amazon and this one was replaced after 11 months with no issue whatsoever.

So it's a great device, it works great, amazingly long battery life. The period app I'm told works really well and is accurate.
But they are just very fragile and will fail, hopefully for you within the warranty period.
