KVM SWITCH DOCKING

Important Notes before Using:

1. When switch to group 1, the monitor connected to DP OUT A, DP OUT B and DP OUT C will output video from DP IN 1A, DP IN 1B and DP IN 1C respectively. When switch to group 2, the monitor connected to DP OUT A, DP OUT B and DP OUT C will output video from DP IN 2A, DP IN 2B and DP IN 2C respectively. 2. To ensure three-screen output, please connect all “DP in” ports of group 1 or 2 (together with the USB host) to your PC, and connect all “DP out” ports to the three monitors. 3. If you need to use the KVM switch’s DP MST function, please ensure your PC also supports DP MST. 4. This DP KVM switch doesn’t support EDID emulation at present. Please refer to 8KSW21-KVM if you need a 8K KVM switch with this function.

5. For stable video input/output, it is required to use the included 6x DP 1.4a cables. If you encounter screen flickering while outputting certain video resolutions, like 8K@60Hz and 4K@165/144Hz, it is recommended to replace the cables with certified DP 2.0-compliant ones.

This is a weird hybrid between a KVM and a docking station and hits a lot of sore points you get if you otherwise get one or the other (KVM or Docking station).

While it's not a master of being a docking station, it is a master of being a KVM, so buy it as a KVM and think of the docking capabilities as a bonus. Don't buy it as a docking station with KVM capabilities.

It has a decent number of ports, but more importantly it supports high refresh rate monitors and Gsync passthrough. That's where most docking stations fall short - supporting high refresh rates at even modest resolutions. This will support high refresh rates at higher resolutions, it's a win!

The KVM portion works well and switches smoothly. I wish it were a bit faster, but I think that's more a limitation of Windows than anything to do with this hardware. Speaking of the hardware, it's very solidly put together.

I would recommend this if you're looking for a KVM and want to play games, or really any other task you need it should handle well.

I've been using this product for a few weeks with 2 of my monitors and it seems to be working fine. My monitors are one Ultrawide 3440x1440p 144Hz OLED with HDR, Gsync and one 2560x1440p 144hz. I used the ultrawide for gaming and work, while the second screen is just for displaying additional contents. The KVM works fine it is able to handle the 3.5K resolution, 144hz and HDR with Gsyncs. At first I have flickering problems so I switched out all of my cables with the provided ones, it got stable and no more flickering. So I would suggest that if anyone got problems, use the supplied cables or buy ones that are at least DP1.4 certified (or DP2.0/2.1 cables). The cable lengths should be short, like 6ft or less. This KVM claims to support UHBR13.5, which is the second highest DP standard (UHBR20 is the highest at the time of this review). So far I haven't use it up to 8K60Hz, but since it is stable at 3440x1440p 144hz with HDR and Gsync, I believe the claims to be true.

I would have given this 5* star overall, but only 4* because of a few things. It does not support EDID emulation, which is a useful feature to prevent your windows from shifting when you switch PC inputs. Keyboard hotkeys is kind of limited. I can only use 4 keys: Tab, CapsLock, Shift, Ctrl to switch. If I have hotkeys enabled, and I accidentally double-tap one of those keys, the hotkey function will be assigned to those keys. This is pretty annoying. But overall, I like the product because it has a decent price and supports high resolution and high refresh rate. KVM that can support DP1.4 or higher is either extremely expensive or extremely crappy. This KVM is only one that works as well as it claims, and at an affordable price. I do wish it is EDID capable though.

The quality of this is absolutely outstanding and it's really everything that I hoped it would be in so much more! It really could not have been any easier to install and set up, and works very smoothly and flawlessly! I can quickly switch between the computer screens that I need to flawlessly with no issue. Everything connects easily and the manual that it comes with is very clear and easy to read and understand which helps set up quite a bit. During installation we did have a question about one of the PCS not wanting to show up but customer service quickly helped us address that issue and tell us exactly where we needed to hook it in. This works super quickly with no issue whatsoever as well! Very durable and sturdy materials and so far it has been 100% as described in the ad! We really could not be happier and I definitely recommend if you have been looking for a good switch docking station! Got to give this a 10/10 for sure just by how nice it is as well as how friendly and quickly the customer service helps you if you have any questions. If you are thinking about it don't hesitate it's definitely worth every penny

I had this set up in about 20 minutes. It connected instantly and switched smoothly from one computer to the other, whole transition takes about 5-10 seconds. Solid, heavy duty item with no lag.

I had an issue where none of the USB ports worked, and Customer Service immediately responded to show me I'd neglected to plug in the included USB-B cables to the switch, and the ends to a USB port in each computer. As soon as I did that, every port on the switch worked beautifully. An excellent buy. Glad to have it.
