Reliable camera system with some nice upgrades from the previous model.
This is the fourth Auto-Vox camera system that I have purchased over the past few years so I have a bit of brand loyalty. That being said, I am quite pleased with this latest edition of their wireless back-up camera. I have 2 currently in use including one camera I use as a full-time rear-view mirror in a truck with no back window. I have not had any problems with the units that I have purchased in the past other than one camera not working which was quickly replaced by the supplier. Out of the box this new system seems like my previous purchases, all the components you need to set up the camera as well as a manual and warranty card, so pretty typical stuff. Before I installed it on my vehicle I did a side-by-side comparison to the older Auto-Vox cameras that I have. I noticed that the picture quality seems better in daylight (haven’t tried it at night yet). This camera also has more guideline options, 6 in total, which is very nice as you can select the guidelines that best suit your camera angle and position which is a nice upgrade. What initially seemed like a minor change, the buttons on the back instead of on the side, for me is probably the best improvement of all. I found that the buttons on the back allow me to better operate and select the various menu options as I can squeeze the unit between my thumb and fingers. The earlier model has side mounted buttons which I found to be less ergonomic and harder to operate. I also like that there are 4 buttons now instead of 3 which also improves the menu selection process. The rest of the unit is as expected, there are camera mounting options for fasteners or using the provided double-sided tape and the video screen has a suction cup mount. Be cautious with the tape though as it is very aggressive so be sure you have the placement correct before you adhere it as there’s no real second chance, once it’s stuck it’s stuck. The suction cup works well but occasionally in hot sun it comes of the window but is easy to put back on so not a big deal. One caution that I have noted with my previous cameras is that there is some incorrect information regarding voltage compatibility. The manual indicates that the camera is 12/24 volt compatible but the camera is clearly stamped 12 volt only. Overall, I would recommend this camera system as a good choice.

If your reading this then your probably unsure. I Can you tell that I installed this on couple of my friends car and myself personally. This is great for those cars without back camera. Getting a shop installed a wired one is costly and even if you can do yourself. Takes time. This is very very simply to install and it is as instant when you put in REVERSE. I highly recommend it. No delay. Picture is great. =)

I found this camera very easy to install. Its monitor mount suctions to the dash board very securely so you don't have to continuously chase the monitor over the dash or on the floor. My previous unit remained fixed on the dash for several years. The camera can be attached with the adhesive or with the screw that holds your number plate. The video quality is excellent with a wide angle and it displays the surroundings in vivid colours. I found this camera extremely helpful when backing into tight spots. This model comes with a 18 month warranty which is more than the industry standard. I highly recommend this product.
