Primarily Designed to Be a Seflie Light
I got this ring light as a tool for my content creation and photography and found it to be quite useful but not without its challenges. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the light. My initial skepticism was quickly replaced by admiration as the ring light significantly improved my images. In fact, it performed so well that it replaced my previous setup of four video fill lights, each containing 90-100 LEDs, also saving me the time I would usually spend setting them up.The ring light comes with a Bluetooth remote which is compatible with both iOS and Android devices. This is a very useful addition as the phone’s buttons often become inaccessible when mounted on the phone holder.However, the device is not without its faults. The biggest issue I faced was with the phone holder. Its design struggles to maintain a 90-degree angle, and over time, it starts to lose its position. I eventually had to resort to using a different phone holder that held the phone independently of the ring light.Another challenge was with the base of the light. Its lack of weight meant that it was easily unbalanced and could tip over - especially when tilting the light away from the base (the only way to use it to create content directly underneath the light, without having the base in view). I had to counteract this instability by placing a 5 pound weight plate on the base.While the ring light's stand does offer adjustable height options, I found the light's mounting options to be limited. Although it can screw into standard 3/8-inch screws typically found on tripods, having additional mounting options like a horseshoe mount would have increased its versatility as I could have easily used it with other, more stable holders.In conclusion, while this ring light delivers good lighting for photography, its design could use improvements. The weak phone holder and unstable base make it difficult to use for content creation at certain angles, particularly a 90-degree angle. These issues may not be a concern if you’re using it solely as a selfie light, but for other uses, you might need to devise creative solutions to overcome these limitations. Overall, although I’m satisfied with the light's output, the stand and phone holder leave quite a bit of room for improvement.

Dem Ringlicht liegt ein höhenverstellbarer Ständer bei, der sehr schnell und einfach aufzubauen ist. Man benötigt leider ein Inbusschlüssel, der nicht bei liegt, aber den man in fast jedem Haushalt irgendwo hat. Der restliche Ständer ist ohne Zubehör aufzubauen und ist in wenigen Sekunden einsatzbereit.
Durch das zusätzliche Schwenkgelenk zwischen Licht und Ständer lässt sich das Ringlicht in alle Positionen bewegen und kann frei ausgerichtet werden. Das Handy kann in der Mitte des Ringlichtes eingespannt werden. Die Halterung ist zum Auseinanderziehen und durch eine Feder wird die Halterung auf die Handygröße wieder fest angezogen. Ich denke alle gängigen Handygrößen sollten in die Halterung passen. Das Handy kann separat zum Ringlicht nochmal am beweglichen Arm ausgerichtet werden, wodurch die Bilder nochmal angepasst werden können. Die Handyhalterung in der Mitte kann auch entfernt werden und ggf. durch eine andere Kamera ersetzt werden. Es scheint ein Standardkameragewinde verwendet zu sein.
Die Helligkeit des Ringlichtes lässt sich an der Bedienung am Kabel einstellen. Es gibt 12 Stufen und 3 verschiedene Lichtfarben, kaltes weißes Licht, Tageslicht und warmes weißes Licht.
Das Ringlicht ist leider nur direkt über Strom zu betreiben und hat keinen Akku, wodurch man das Ringlicht immer in der Nähe einer Stromquelle nur nutzen kann. Aber durch den USB-Anschluss kann man es an einen Laptop oder eine Powerbank anschließen. Da ich das Licht noch nicht auf Dauer getestet habe, kann ich nicht sagen wie viel Strom es am Ende wirklich von einer Powerbank zieht, aber für die Zeit, die ich es dran hatte, hat es kaum was abgezogen.
Dem Ganzen liegt auch noch eine Bluetooth Fernbedienung bei, über der man den Fotoauslöser vom Handy nutzen kann, ohne am Handy selbst rumfummeln zu müssen. Es gibt eine Taste für IOS und eine für Android. Bei Android habe ich festgestellt, dass die Fernbedienung einfach die lauter und leiser Tasten am Handy ansteuert, die gleichzeitig im Fotomodus der Auslöser sind.
Das Ringlicht ist eine super Ergänzung und hat mir schon sehr geholfen gute Bilder auch in der Dämmerung oder Abend zu machen. Erst war ich anfangs enttäuscht, dass es kein Akku hat, aber durch die Lösung mit der Powerbank wurde der Minuspunkt direkt wieder ausgemerzt. Knapp 30€ scheint der Standardpreis für Hobbyringlichter zu sein und ich bin vollends begeistert von dem Ringlicht und werde es noch oft nutzen.
