I went with the 7900X3D over the 7800X3D for several reasons:
- 4 extra cores and threads that run faster
- I game at 4k while running streams and videos
- I picked one up for under 380 CAD, while the 7800X3D, 7900X, and 7900 were all 100+ more
- There's no way the 9900X (and eventually X3D) will match the value for quite a while

The only slight downside is it runs about 10C warmer than my 5700X did, but then it is a 120W chip vs the 65W one. However, you can undervolt and change the temp limits. I undervolt and limit it to 75C with little hit to the performance. It really is a great all around CPU that will last for years, and if you find it on sale, it's a no-brainer

The performance on this CPU is stellar, especially coming from an i7-3770 (11 years old now). The cpu utilization rarely goes over 10% during regular use. The problem I, and many other users are having is that the chip runs hot. I’m using a Noctua NH-D15 (a beefy boy) to cool this chip, yet it still sits around 50°C when idle, while my gpu is around 30°C.

This thing handles everything like a dream! Don't be worried about idle temps if they're a bit higher than you're used to, that's normal. I'm around 43c on boot and 50c with standard game clients, discord, and browser running. Actual gaming temps over a sustained period don't seem to break 65c often and i'm happy with that, especially considering the insane efficiency of this thing. (I'm running a Deepcool LS 720 SE, it's a 360mm AIO)

Haven't felt a hiccup at all while using this CPU and I've been running games with lots of other stuff in the background. It's definitely not limiting my 7900 XTX whatsoever. If you're getting this one you're probably some level of a gamer and you won't be disappointed. Make sure you get the core parking to work correctly by following the steps from AMD, but it's super simple. I haven't had to use it because i've been happy with the stock performance, but the option to play with parked and non-parked cores to see if it makes a difference in specific games is there. You'll love this chip!

Se tem grana sobrando e, simplesmente quer o melhor que o dinheiro pode comprar da amd pro pcs domésticos: 7950x3d. Quer algo acima do 7800x3d e menos que o relativamente caro7950x3d? Este cara é o 7900x3d.

Ultra feliz com a compra deste processador, é surreal a diferença prática que senti do, agora aposentado, i7 4790k com overclock.
