Bought this camera to replace a GoPro and very happy I did. The package included a very useful set of accessories that let me use the camera in almost any situation. The touchscreen is very useful as well as having a screen on both the front and back. Pictures are very good and the videos turn out great. No regrets not getting a new GoPro and highly recommend this great camera.

Product has exceeded expectations so far. Easy to use. Boots up quickly. Love the remote control and the ability to switch to the front-facing screen. Been shooting and reviewing videos and stills daily for about a week straight in extremely hot temperatures and no hiccups. Has endured a fair bit of abuse but still looks and functions like it's fresh out of the box. Not great in very low light situations but that's not surprising. Haven't had a chance yet (still on vacation) to download files from SD cards and view them on my desktop but viewed on the camera's small screen, the results look awesome.

Does what you would expect. Good video, pics and easy to use. Buttons on case are a little difficult to actuate when diving but eventually you figure it out. Overall very impressed with this sturdy and great performing unit at a fraction of the cost of a GoPro.

The app you use is clunky and not very user friendly, but uploading your vids and pics to laptop or computer is easy. Recommend editing using a decent freeware app or your editor of choice.

Pros:

Cons:
- dim lighting makes video grainy
- stabilization not as crisp as a GoPro

If you’re looking to save a few bucks but still take great video this camera works great. In any bright lit situation this is a perfect action camera. Anything less than 4K appears grainy otherwise the video is fine and more than ample for casual video capturing. The battery lasts a long time and the included spare is a bonus. As long as you know it won’t be as good as a GoPro you’re in for a treat. Great for a snorkel vacation and some basic video taking and capturing some fun travel footage.

Update - July 2022. I just wanted to update and mention that the customer service for AKASO is top notch. I had some inquiries regarding some audio issues I had and they were really quick to respond. (Via email) Sometimes within the hour. I was thoroughly impressed especially because some larger companies take several days to respond. My issues were resolved quickly with their help. My rating has improved because their customer service team is def 5 star worthy.

Great discount action camera

I have used my Brave 7 LE for 2 weeks now.

For less than a third the price of a GoPro you get much more than a third of the value. All action cameras suffer from being used in low light, so they work best outdoors, and with lots of light the Brave 7 LE makes video as good as my GoPro. The battery life is on par with my GoPro (doing back to back tests in the same conditions).

My favorite feature is the time lapse video/photography setting. This is a great way of doing longer "videos" that can be watched in shorter time spans (nice for social media).

The touch screen is easy to use and the menus easy to figure out.

It has HDMI out, which the new GoPros lack. So you can plug it right into a TV (mine didn't come with an HDMI cable, but they are cheap). It uses USB mini to connect to a computer / power supply. While not as nice as USB C, you probably have a hundred of those cables laying around. As well, it uses all the same mounts as GoPro, so there are lots of accessories out there.

I haven't scratched all the features in this yet (I just started playing with the app, which so far works well).

All of these cameras take some time to figure out how they work best, but Akaso Fans has a Facebook group you can join to get hints and help. I am quite happy with this little camera and look forward to exploring more of what it is capable of.

Happy with camera, wish it came with a carrying stick for snorkeling

We ordered the AKASO as we are doing a trip to Hawaii and wanted to capture some videos for when we are snorkeling. The AKASO arrived quickly. There were a lot of accessories included with the original kit. I didn’t unpack the box fully until the day before we left. By then, I realized that this didn’t include a selfie stick to use when we are snorkeling. This was initially a little disappointing and distressing, as there was no time to order this in before our trip. I also went to the Best Buy in Oahu, but they didn’t have a stick that was compatible with AKASO. However, I managed to tie a string around the camera and wore it around my neck. This ended up working pretty good. The video quality is quite good when we reviewed it.

So overall, very happy with the product and delivery. I may suggest including a stick for the people who are using this for snorkeling / under water use. Or perhaps to make it very clear that this wasn’t included, so it could be ordered separately.

Otherwise, keep up the great work!
