mediocre, functional but ugly.
3 Stars
mediocre, functional but ugly.
I had the 1st gen mi fit bands years ago. I was unimpressed and never considered the primo fitbit type stuff worth the money. But for $30 bucks I gave this thing a shot. O2, Heart rate monitor, blood pressure, sleep tracker... cool stuff. The trackers all seem to work, except the step counter is too sensitive. While working from home barely getting up for 8 hours it still hits 3000+ steps. 500 first thing in morning after getting out of bed for 15 minutes. No way.As you can tell from the images, there are 3 selectable watch faces and they're all fun house clown colors terrible. I just want a plain white face and the 3rd one is the closest I can get. The first night I woke up in the middle of the night because my wrist woke up the device and that 1st one was blaring in my eyes. Here's the 2nd biggest fault with the device, it doesn't remember the watch face selection. 8 times a day it reset back to the 1st face for some reason which I cannot stand. This thing makes me wish I was color blind.Sleep tracker is cool. Seems to work accurately.Blood pressure i don't know why I wanted it, it really tells me nothing and if I had an issue I wouldn't want to rely on this thing to monitor it.The app isn't all bad... but isn't great either.... but I've seen the fitbit app and that isn't much either... so good enough.I did take it into the pool but was careful to keep it mostly out of water despite the ip rating. So far no issue.I grappled with the thought of returning it, but I'll keep it I think. It is mediocre enough to dislike, but good enough to keep.

UPDATE:
I liked this so much that I bought another for DW. I find that hers is exactly the same as goes BP, O2, and Pulse readings, which makes it very close to the wrist cuff I use to test it against, which in turn is spot on to what I see at the hospital. Nearly perfect! So far the only issue is that the step count is always wildly optimistic; it's really saying double the actual distance covered.
I think a simple firmware update would fix this and truly make it complete.
Battery life is very good; more that a week between charges

We're very happy with these AK1980 fitness watches.

ORIGINAL:
I wasn't sure what to expect from this, but I really wanted a sleep tracker, and this had blood oxygen as well (many don't).
So far, setting up was painless, daily use is easy, and the app is informative.
I have a regular wrist blood pressure monitor, which is always very close to the doctor's readings. Surprisingly, this wrist watch is within 5-8 points of that reading, every time!. I'm amazed, frankly.
Step counting is pretty optimistic however, but it works, and linking to phone gps works fine, giving a nice little map of where I've been walking.
The. real deal is the sleep monitoring. It really does do the deal. It shows me when I get up to go pee, when I am really sleeping, when I'm "light sleeping", tracks it all on the phone app to refer to next day (or month, if you want).
Seems robust, but perhaps the charger interface clamp is a bit awkward at first, and does force you to take the very specific charge clamp with you if you are going away (I'd prefer a direct usb connection really: One less cable).
For the price, it's a winner, looks good, fits my large wrist easily, and also the wife's tiny wrist. I'm buying another one for her as we speak! Thanks for a decent product at a reasonable price!

I bought this for my child. He had a Garmin vivofit jr and he inherited my old garmin vivofit (which was too large). after Vivofit Jr broke and the other vivofit was LOST. ... theres no way i can spend hundreds of dollars on another fitbit or vivofit jr right?

I saw this watch which is clearly a china made product. The manual is ENG / CHINESE. Clearly this is a budget item and you can tell by the writeband which is a fairly cheap plastic. The weight is light.

For 30$ though, its a nice niche for kids. My child likes to count steps and time stuff with stopwatch (and of course know the actual time).

What i like?
1. I love the colour screen. Its vibrant and really clear. Son loves that !!
2. KEeps steps great! Thats the whole point.
3. built-in stopwatch perfect for my son's usage.
4. BT sync works perfect with the android app --- the app tracks all sorts of data which rivals garmin vivofit app. My son loves the "sleep" stats for whatever reason.
5. LOVE that it is waterproof. but its only 1meter. nevertheless, its sealed to deal with a shower or light swim in shallow water. For my son, thats a plus
6. write band fits me (male) and also fits my child (8).

FYI:
1. Heartbeat monitor isnt always ON like Garmin/fitbits. You have to go to HB mode first, then wait 2~ minutes for it to measure your HB. It will show the result. I'm actually OK with that for my child. He wont have a constant optical measuring device on his wrist!!
2. likewise other "monitors" work the same way (like blood oxygen). frankly i have no idea how accurate these are.

What i really do not like?
1. the charger is a really awkward and its proprietary so if you lose this cable, youre done. the cable is usb but the other side is a proprietary "clip" that has 2 gold pins that poke the back of the watch. you have to LOOK at how you clip it carefully .. when you aligned it right you finally get a green battery light show up to confirm proper clippage.
2. beware: you need to provide your own power adapter. the watch comes with just the usb cable. also your power brick MUST be 1.5A or higher. Else the watch will never charge or even detect existence of it plugged in.
3. the android app works fine but --- i'm a bit weary of these non mainstream apps which awkwardly ask for excessive permissions. but to its credit, its a decent app.

For this price tag i've got nothing to complain. The BIGGEST highlight for me here, is the colour screen. its really vibrant and son LOVES it !!

update:
theres a mode that is set by the phone app that keeps heartbeat monitor on from a range of time.e If you turn this on, the battery needs to be charged in 6 hours. disable it. you get 3+ days with this turned off.

Update:
This isn't really water proof. Not even 1 meter. It's water resistant. That's it. So don't shower or swim at all with it
I have water bubbles inside the watch now but it still works... Can't get rid of the internal water

Zero stars - seemed like it would be decent, but then couldn't synch it to my phone and therefore cannot update the watch to the correct time of day. Tried to put the watch on my wrist and realized the clasp was installed incorrectly and can't actually close the band around my wrist. Total waste of time and money. Find something else to buy!

Received in literally less than 2 days. I think the price is amazing and the device is great. It has one green LED light and I checked the precision for blood oxygen saturation and for the heart rate comparing the values with the Fingertip Pulse Blood Oxygen Saturation Analyzer & Heart Rate. Heart rate is super precise while the blood oxygen level was very close to the % measured from the Fingertip Pulse Blood Oxygen Saturation Analyzer. But this is more than understandable because it is using a green LED light. Fitbit wouldn't do better even if it's way more expensive. It has a continuous heart rate monitor, once every hour, sleep cycle monitor is also very precise. When I wake up to drink water and then go to sleep again in the morning I can see on the app exactly the moment I was awake and not in bed. It is not bulky at all, small and stylish, it looks like a small bracelet. Definitely a great product for a great price and great design. The battery last 5 days aproximately.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good value, clear screen, options & lots of data measured, long hold to press option a bit fiddly
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 3, 2019

So far, so good. The screen is clear and bright with one screen button to press, which changes colour from red, to blue, to green. The menu options are self explanatory (step counter, Km distance, Kcal, Bpm, mmHg, SpO2, Sport mode, push messages from text/WhatsApp/ and call notification, light (still not sure what that does??), settings with stop watch, find phone, Bluetooth info, power off and reset. Menu options are selected with a long hold press, which can be a bit fiddly, but might just need getting used to. There are 3 options to choose from to change the way the clock face looks/date/ steps show etc... which wasn’t so obvious to begin with. Heart rate/blood pressure/O2 level can be checked whenever you want with just select them from the menu and holding your wrist still, else you can select for the data to be recorded hourly throughout the day (sometimes it does it multiple times). In the menu there is a sports mode option for different sports (running, cycling, hiking, walking, swimming) with step counter/Kcal counter, heart rate monitor and timer. The watch is connected to your phone via Bluetooth and the data synced using the JYouPro app, which you don’t seem to need to register for. Don’t forget to sync the data to the JYouPro app if you don’t have Bluetooth connected all the time. The watch does store so much data though. Data can also be synced to other apps too. Would be better if there was a way to have the SpO2 data link with Apple Health though and options through other apps to record this data automatically also.
I needed to make an extra hole in the watch strap which was easy enough to do. As for 100% accuracy of measurements, I’m not sure as don’t have other bpm, SpO2, mmHg, kcal measuring equipment to go by, but it does seems pretty good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfekter Tracker für iPhone 7 und Samsung Galaxy S7

4.0 out of 5 stars Great tracker can swim with very happy

Bought a fitness tracker and couldn't use it to go swimming so I then bought this one and can happily say I have been swimming twice, both times for 30 minutes and the fitness tracker still works fine. I was able to set it on the watch to say I was swimming and this was then logged as steps, the only downfall is that it still doesn't have swimming on the App so it doesn't register on there as exercise.

This fitness tracker is generally very accurate, it counts your steps and does not count it when just moving your hand up and down or driving as previous fitness trackers have. HR and sleep monitor also appear to be accurate, the BP is not very accurate (but was expecting that) it records mine as being quite a bit lower than it actually is.

The tracker is comfortable and light making it easy to wear all the time and is not too big so looks okay to. The screen can be changed to one of three and it is really easy to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Optimistic that this is a good buy

After a confrontation with my local doctor's surgery it turns out that I have what is severe white coat syndrome (blood pressure is high when near a doctor or nurse) and I needed to find a way of measuring my blood pressure outside that environment to prove it. We bought two and checked the calibration of the BP measuring against my partner's BP who does not suffer white coat syndrome. The AK1980 exactly matched my partner's official BP so we are reasonably confident that it is in fact accurate. Although I have only had it for a week I am optimistic that this is a good product. Step measurement is pretty good. Obviously there are occasional anomalies but I have experienced that with other step counters (such as measuring steps when travelling). I am very impressed with the sleep measurement and heart and BP measurement. Overall we have been able to glean much useful information from using this fitness tracker. It is very useful to link it with my phone, so it now vibrates when I get a call. I too often miss calls because I don't hear the ring or miss the phone vibration. Another plus is setting the reminder to move. I do a desk job and can spend hours without moving, which isn't good for health. I've set it to nag me every 20 minutes to move. The battery is a little light weight, which is the only down side. The only unknown to date is how long this will last and how waterproof it is going to be. I haven't yet been swimming, just worn it in the shower. Overall I am impressed so far and think it is good value for money.

5.0 out of 5 stars The watch is so light I don't know I'm even wearing it!

Great little aid for me to monitor my general fitness.
I find the steps counted and distance covered to be fairly accurate as is the cycling measurement.

However be careful as stated in the instructions when using the Heart Rate, Blood Pressure and Oxygen Level (SpO2).
All of which I have to closely monitor due to my health but what I can say as far as these values relate to me is as follows:

'Heart Rate' monitor is pretty much accurate.
'Blood Pressure' tends to read low by around 7% in my case.
'Oxygen Level (Sp02)' reads consistently 5% higher than on professional equipment.

Having taken that into consideration the advantages of using this watch for me far outweighs any negatives.
Well worth the 5 Stars!
