We purchased these to clip on to an indoor bounce castle as it was moving a lot with the kids crashing and banging into it. We filled them with pea gravel and after stuffing both sides they provide great weight. I could absolutely seeing these working well on a tripod even though that is not what we purchased them for.
PROS:
- Double zippered. We used pea gravel instead of sand for less mess but the double zipper should help alleviate messes and spills.
- Durable. We jammed these full of pea gravel and even when filled to the brim there is no sign of bursting, tearing, or the zipper(s) giving way.
- Heavy when full. Each bag has 2 separate compartments and when both are full provides a great amount of weight. The added carabiner clip on the strap is perfect.
CONS:
- I found when filling the bags getting the first zipper to close was sometimes difficult, but it's probably because I was over filling the bags. After some prodding and adjusting the first zipper would close and the 2nd zipper was easy to close after that. Again, not really a con, but not quite as easy as zipping up a jacket.
