I tried powering it with USB-C, and it worked, but there was no sound. To enable sound, you must use the included DC power adapter.Here's an evaluation of its various functions:- File Upload : It offers several ways to upload files, including a USB drive, a direct connection to a computer via a data cable, a mobile app for uploading photos and videos, and even an email attachment method. The email upload option is particularly useful as it allows you to transfer photos from a computer.- Photo Display : This is the basic functionality of a digital photo frame, with options to fit the screen, set display duration, and choose whether to display all photos or from a specific user.- Video Playback : It can play small-sized videos. However, videos and photos cannot be played together.- Alarm Clock : It offers basic alarm clock features. If you really need an alarm clock, you can use it.- Clock : You can display various clock faces, but it's questionable whether anyone would want to use this primarily as a clock display. Also, it doesn't offer a full-screen clock display.- Music : You can play music, but the sound quality is mediocre. You can switch to the photo slideshow after playing music. but you need to switch back to the music interface to control playback or stop the music.- Weather : It provides weather information and a two-day forecast. You can add multiple cities. However, this information doesn't display while viewing photos.- Calendar : Despite the advertisement mentioning a calendar function, it wasn't found in the interface.- Settings : Most settings relate to the photo albums. Worth mentioning is: the "Assistive Touch" feature is recommended as it offers additional options through a small circular touch icon. The "Motion Sensor" feature automatically turns off the screen after a period of inactivity and activates when you move. The "Sleep" function can be set for a specific time period to turn off the display.Finally, I want to complain about the build quality. The support rod on the back is supposed to be inserted into a slot and then rotated to secure it. However, the slot seems to be poorly designed, making it difficult to rotate the rod, and as a result, the plastic card on the rod broke. This indicates issues with both the slot design and the quality of the plastic rod. I also saw other reviews mentioning other build quality issues as well. Given these issues, I have to deduct one star from the rating.
