I have it set so when I come into the driveway with the car there is no alarm or recording but as soon as I step out of the vehicle blam, the humanoid detection kicks in and it starts 15 sec repeated records until I leave the view and it sends me an email with photo right away. Very nice feature. Good quality, picture and video very clear on phone---so so on computer but still very good. Night vision is excellent. Pan tilt zoom work fine, pans a bit slow from the phone but quicker on computer. Set at 80 feet from wifi and it works good wireless. Has been working great for 6 weeks. Can view camera with my dsl speed which is not very fast but it works from the phone anywhere. No more crap false alarms with humanoid. I feel comfortable knowing that when someone comes in driveway I get the email very fast. Catch them before they can loot and pillage. Records video and I can hear sound from the computer interface but there is no two way voice on this unit as the camera does not have a speaker only a microphone. Lots of options for setting motion on or off or drawing a rectangle on the screen for movement only in that square for detection. Humanoid detection is a seperate feature that can work on its own, ignoring movement detection or a combination of movement detection and humanoid detection. Or if you dont care, just set to record all the time. Takes up to a 128 gig card that you must format to FAT32 which means finding a software program on net or using the built in FAT32 format in the Software interface you download from Genbolt.com. You need to take four screws out on the camera to take out the factory 34Gig card and put in anything larger up to 128 or just leave the 32Gig factory in as it works fine just less recording capacity. Playback on phone or computer from stored files that are resident in the camera memory. Also, can transfer to computer if you want too. The computer interface shows up to 4 cameras at once if need be. I have two cameras, the other is the indoor economical dog/baby camera inside the house to see the dog and it has two way voice, works ok too.

Good Cameras For The Price But Unstable Wi-fi Connections

I've had 2 of these cameras for a year in Canada and they held up in all kinds of weather, even occasionally -40c . After a year though I have found one or the other was constantly losing the connection even though I have good internet connections over wi-fi to everything else in my place. I finally went and bought ethernet cables and connected directly to my modem (Telus Fibre Optik) but wish I hadn't had to since the modem was only about 6 feet away and one interior wall separating the cameras and modem. Another issue I have is (probably due to my own inexperience with fine tuning the settings using the HiP2P Client software on my computer) the motion detection alarm recordings always cut out needed details with the 5 second or delay so that the alarm recording (14 second video) is triggered and goes back to Plan Recording. I would turn off motion detection alarm but then how would you find what you're looking for if you don't happen to know the almost exact time an event occurred? I have reached out to support for various issues and they try to help but I think the language barrier makes it too hard to convey what the issues exactly are and I am not just using their mobile app to configure so I still haven't figured it all out, not their fault. Overall I am happy with the cameras and they do have excellent night vision, easy to set up and use, love the PTZ especially as it really made setting it up so much easier as I could adjust the angles from inside!

I bought this camera in October 2021, only a few weeks later, it was defective that I returned.

I bought the same PTZ camera again on January 23, 2022

I had some wifi bug then finally I connected the camera directly to the router by cable.

Most problems fixed.

But in the last few weeks, impossible to access the recording on the micro SD card.
I changed the card and the same problem, no accessible recording but I have access to the camera.

Then we have a very light snowstorm and nothing on the camera, message OFFLINE even if it is on cable. A professional came to check it and the camera died.

Where it is even more complicated, I have been trying for several days to reach the company which does not answer the phone, nor their email nor the message on FACEBOOK.

So if you think they'll honor the 1 year warranty, forget it!!

Really sad, because the quality of the image was very good but having a camera which decides not to record any more without warning and the day that an unfortunate incident happens, we have no proof on video

This review is for the GENBOLT 9X PTZ purchased from GENBOLT direct.

I bought this camera for the purpose of capturing trivial matters that occur in my neighbourhood although it would also help with capturing incompetent drivers who cannot negotiate the kerb and my lawn should damage occur. I wasn't keen on spending too much and this being the upper limit of my budget I decided to take a gamble based on the brag of a 'Sony cmos sensor' also. This review is based on the very short time of just over a week and I will add further input when time allows. It is written from a personal perspective and use.

Initial impressions when first unboxing the camera - very well presented and constructed. I followed the instructions included. The camera was up and running with ease. You first connect to your modem via network cable supplied. Download the app from google play to your phone or via QR code. Open the app and add camera. After you have connected to the camera you can then input your WiFi code from the settings and you will then be connected wirelessly. This was all done quite easily with the supplied instructions.

Pan and tilt function is adequate and smooth although latency effects required position. It would be nice to have the facility of preset positions although I have yet to see whether this facility does exist as the mobile app is minimal but adequate.

The video files are saved in a .254 or .255 format. A 17mb file size will cover 10 minutes of footage which I think is amazing considering the quality. The camera will capture a number plate of a parked car from approximately 30mtrs during the day (without the use of the zoom facility). I have not done much testing with night vision or moving vehicles but will update. If you need to access video footage should an incident be caught on camera you have to go to the file storage, select the file then download. The file will then be converted to mp4 - a commonly used format
and played by most operating systems and apps. As a 10 minute file is less than the email limit of most free email service providers (20mb usually) this function is extremely user friendly with no need to edit videos. The aforementioned was all done with ease using my android phone (app was downloaded by scanning the QR code on the side of the box via Google play store). You also have the facility to use your pc web browser to access the camera by simply inserting the ip address of the camera into the web address bar. You will be asked for the admin username and password to access this facility so be sure to familiarise yourself with such or you can change it using the camera app on your phone.

The tailing lead consists of a rj45 connector, reset button, power input and a audio output phono connector. A little speaker is also supplied which connects to this audio output. I haven't tried to insert it directly into a line level of an audio amplifier but I would verify the voltage before doing so. I'm presuming this sends an audible motion sensed warning should it be selected on the app.

The microphone on the camera seems substantial and the pick up is certainly functional, a thorough test is called for and I will update accordingly.

Thankfully this camera is not associated with cloud storage services that hold you to ransom by constantly bothering you to purchase this service and preventing access to your recorded footage.

Initial impressions are very good, i am pleased with this camera and i certainly think it commensurate with price.
