Daylight

The Realme GT 6T delivers sharper images than its counterpart in daylight. The images also look appealing, owing to brighter results than the POCO F6. However, the dynamic range is underwhelming on the Realme smartphone, and the images look overexposed, especially in areas where the light is falling directly. The POCO F6 seems to be doing a better job in that regard, providing those subtle details around shadowy areas. The colour calibration isn’t accurate on either device, but it looks close to reality on the POCO smartphone.

Ultrawide

Both smartphones feature an 8MP auxiliary camera for ultrawide images with a similar field of view (FoV). While the colour profiles are consistent, there is a noticeable colour shift compared to their primary cameras. The POCO F6 delivers landscape shots with a superior dynamic range, and the colours, although slightly oversaturated, are more vibrant than those of the Realme GT 6T.

Winner: POCO F6

Portrait

The Realme GT 6T outputs more social media-ready images. The handset oversaturates the colours, making them appear visually striking, but at the cost of blowing out shadows and altering the scene’s appearance. In contrast, the POCO F6 captures portraits with more accurate skin tones, better facial detailing, and a good dynamic range. For these factors, we are leaning towards the POCO smartphone for portraits.

Winner: POCO F6

Selfie

The POCO F6 delivers somewhat mediocre selfie performance, likely due to its smaller sensor size—32MP compared to 20MP. The handset smooths out facial details, resulting in dull skin tones. In contrast, the Realme GT 6T produces more pleasing results, with vibrant skin tones and a commendable level of facial detail.

Winner: Realme GT 6T

Lowlight

When it comes to sheer appeal, one might lean towards the Realme GT 6T. However, its colours tend to bleed, especially the brighter ones, which is not an issue with the POCO F6. The handset captures near true-to-life images, with sharper text and less noise compared to its counterpart.

Winner: Tie

Night mode

The POCO F6 and Realme GT 6T maintain the same consistency as the lowlight with their respective night mode, which offers long exposure to capture more light in dimly lit environments. This results in a noticeable reduction in noise levels. While the POCO F6 produces sharper images, it lacks the vibrant colours of the Realme GT 6T, making the latter’s photos more visually appealing.

Verdict

This concludes our POCO F6 and Realme GT 6T camera comparison. Both smartphones perform equally well. However, there are a few key takeaways:

  • Although the Realme GT 6T lacks dynamic range and colour accuracy, the handset produces visually appealing images which appear quite sharp in daylight.
  • Conversely, the POCO F6 outputs more detailed images with a respectable dynamic range across lighting conditions. Its colours are also nearly accurate too.

So choosing between the two comes down to your preference. If you are a casual photography enthusiast, the Realme GT 6T might be a better choice. For purists, the POCO F6 could be worth considering.
