macOS Sequoia (version 15) is loaded with a host of AI (Apple Intelligence) features. You can find AI enhancements throughout the operating system and core apps. But the improvements and changes aren’t limited to just AI. Apple has put greater emphasis on expanding its gaming library and bringing the iPhone closer to the Mac. Here we will be taking a look at these various macOS 15 features and see when our Macs will get them.
6 macOS Sequoia features
Apple Intelligence features on macOS 15
- System-wide Writing Tools feature lets you rewrite, proofread, and summarize text on all apps.
- The Image Playground feature lets you create images in 3 styles viz., Animation, Illustration, or Sketch. You can share these AI-generated images through other apps.
- Tell a description and AI will create stories using the pics in the Photos library.
- The Clean Up tool allows you to erase objects and people in the background of an image.
- Siri can read what’s on-screen and provide context-aware responses. You can communicate with it via voice and text. For complex tasks, it can seek ChatGPT’s (GPT-4o) help with your permission. Apple assures your data is not stored and stays private.
iPhone mirroring
You can control the iPhone through the Mac for activities like interacting with messages and other notifications, sending and receiving text and images, and changing audio playback as well as volume.
Passwords app
The Keychain system is now Passwords, a standalone app that can be used across macOS, iOS, iPadOS, visionOS, and even Windows. It can store account credentials, passwords, passkeys, Wi-Fi passwords, and verification codes.
Auto windows tiling
Starting with macOS 15, when you drag and place a window somewhere on the desktop, it can automatically adjust to side-by-side tiles.
