iOS 18 features offer various customisation tools for iPhones. The new software update will be available for compatible iPhones this fall. The iOS 18 developer beta is out for testing and several new unannounced features are being discovered. Some of the new iOS 18 features include a quicker and uncomplicated way to turn off the iPhone and a small but helpful change for the Power Reserve function.
New button to shut down iPhone on iOS 18
- Turning off an iPhone isn’t the easiest and can get very confusing if you don’t know the correct steps. What you need to do right now is press and hold the side button and either of the volume buttons for the ‘Power Off’ slider to appear on the screen. Another way is to go to Settings > General > Shut Down, then drag the slider.
- iOS 18 offers a quick and easy way to shut down your iPhone and it can be found in the new Control Center.
- First, you need to open the Control Center by swiping down the screen from the top-right corner of your iPhone. You’ll see a new power icon on the top right corner of the Control Center. Tap on it and the Power Off slider will appear. You can easily shut down your iPhone from this shortcut.
iOS 18 shows time even in Battery Reserve mode
Apple has updated the Power Reserve function for iPhones with a tiny feature in iOS 18. For those unaware, this feature saves a small amount of battery life so you can access Find My and NFC unlocking when your iPhone dies. In iOS 18, your iPhone will show the time in Power Reserve mode. It’s a small but helpful feature that could come in handy for some users.
This new feature is reportedly available only in the iPhone 15 series for now. It was tested out on the iPhone 14 Pro Max by MacRumors with iOS 18 developer beta but it didn’t work.
