Google Pixel Watch 3 XL leaked renders reveal design, larger display

Highlights
  • The Pixel Watch 3 XL renders reveal a larger display with the same design as its predecessors.
  • The watch will continue using the pogo pin-based charging that we get with the previous generation models.
  • The report suggests that you might not be able to interchange the Pixel Watch 3 XL’s bands with those of the Pixel Watch 3 or previous models.

Days after we exclusively shared the renders of the Google Pixel Watch 3, revealing its design in full glory, the renders of its elder sibling have now surfaced online. Folks over at AndroidHeadlines, in collaboration with OnLeaks, posted renders of the Google Pixel Watch 3 XL, giving us our first look at the device. Let’s look at what we learn about the Google Pixel 3 XL from this leak.

Google Pixel Watch 3 XL design revealed

The Pixel Watch 3 XL shares a design language with the Pixel Watch 3 that we saw in the leaked render, as well as the Pixel Watch 2 and the original Pixel Watch before that. It will feature a curved glass finish, a digital crown on the right, and a single button directly above it.

The report suggests that the Pixel Watch 3 XL’s dimensions are 45mm, or 45mm x 45mm x 13.89mm, compared to the Pixel Watch 3’s 40.79 x 40.73 x 14mm dimensions. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and the Apple Watch Series 9 are also available in 41mm and 45mm sizes.

Since the report states the company will reportedly market the watch as an “XL” variant rather than a “Pro” model, it suggests that there won’t be any performance upgrades over the standard Pixel Watch 3.

However, with bigger dimensions, Google should have the room to fit in a larger battery on the XL model. From the renders, we can see that the device will continue to use the pogo pin-based charging that we get with the previous generation models.

Moreover, the report mentions that the XL model will have a bigger 1.45-inch display than the standard variant’s 1.2-inch screen. Furthermore, it also suggests that the Pixel Watch 3 will have a smaller band attachment system than the XL model. It means you might be unable to interchange the Pixel Watch 3 XL’s bands with the Pixel Watch 3 or the previous models.

The original Pixel Watch launched in October 2022, and the Pixel Watch 2 arrived in October 2023. With October just a few months away and leaks of the Pixel Watch 3 family surfacing online, we expect to learn more about the lineup in the coming days.
