After teasing its release in India, ASUS has finally confirmed the launch date and price of its handheld gaming console, the ASUS ROG Ally. To recall, ASUS ROG Ally is the company’s entry into the handheld console market. The system will allow players to play their PC games on the go.

ASUS ROG Ally: Price and availability in India

The ASUS ROG Ally is priced at Rs 69,990 in India. It will be available July 12th onwards via ASUS Exclusive Stores, Asus Eshop and Flipkart. However, ASUS will be hosting a special Flipkart Flash Sale on July 7th. The sale will only be open for one day on Flipkart and is designed to give gamers a chance to purchase the device early.

As an added bonus, the first 200 customers who purchase the ASUS ROG Ally via the ASUS Eshop or ASUS Stores on July 12th will receive a complimentary ROG Ally Case worth Rs 2,000. However, it should be noted that these customers will need to visit asuspromo.in in order to redeem the offer.

ASUS ROG Ally: Specifications

The ASUS ROG Ally packs a 7-inch FHD IPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the whole thing is an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme Processor. This is an 8-core processor that is based on AMD’s new Zen4 architecture that used the 4nm process. You also get AMD Radeon graphics that are based on the RDNA 3 architecture. In terms of memory, you get 16GB DDR5 RAM paired with a 512GB NVMe SSD.

The handheld gaming market has long been dominated by the likes of Nintendo and it continues to do with its latest console, the Nintendo Switch. But more recently, companies like Valve and Logitech have made inroads with the release of the Steam Deck and G Cloud Console respectively. However, unlike all three of these companies, the ASUS ROG Ally will be officially available in India. Hopefully, this will act as a catalyst for others to officially launch their devices in India as well.
