AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 Spotted Once Again Prior To Release Along with Ryzen AI 7 PRO 360 8-Core "Strix" APU

AMD's Ryzen AI 300 APUs are seeing no end to the amount of pre-launch leaks and the latest ones come from the Bapco CrossMark benchmark database where both the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 and the Ryzen AI 7 PRO 360 APUs have been spotted. The first APU has been officially announced while the second one recently appeared through leaks and its specs can now be confirmed.

The AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 APU is part of the Ryzen AI 300 "Strix Point" family and features a 12-core and 24-thread chip that features a four Zen 5 and eight Zen 5C configuration. This chip runs at up to 5.1 GHz boost clocks, offers 36 MB of cache (24 MB L3 + 12 MB L2), & the Radeon 890M iGPU with 16 compute units or 1024 cores.

The AMD Ryzen AI 7 PRO 360 "Strix" APU earlier leaked out as a 12-core part and was also recently spotted as the Ryzen AI 7 PRO 160. The chip has now been confirmed to use the official Ryzen AI 7 PRO 360 branding. The chip features 8 cores and 16 threads, coupled with 8 MB of L2 cache and 8 MB of L3 cache. The CPU has a base clock of 2.0 GHz.

Now coming to the more interesting bits, the AMD Ryzen AI 7 PRO 360 APU is composed of three Zen 5 cores and five Zen 5C cores in a 3+5 configuration which makes up a total of 8 cores. It also features a Radeon 870M iGPU which based on its name should retain the same RDNA 3.5 GPU architecture but come with a reduced number of cores. The Radeon 890M features 16 CUs, and the 880M features 12 CUs so we can expect 8 CUs for the 870. The clock speeds should still be in the 2 GHz+ range.

Both APUs were tested in the CrossMark benchmark at Bapco. The AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 was featured in an HP laptop while the Ryzen AI 7 PRO 360 was featured in a Lenovo laptop with the LPDDR5-7500 memory configurations. The scores are nothing that great to be honest compared to the top Intel Core Ultra "Meteor Lake" and AMD Ryzen 7040 "Phoenix" APUs but we also don't know what TDPs these were running at. The Ryzen AI 300 scale from 15W up to 54W plus these could very well be early samples for all we know.

The first AMD Ryzen AI 300 laptops are expected to launch later this month on the 28th of July with a Ryzen AI 300 PRO launch expected for October release so expect more releases and information to come forward in the coming weeks.
