About us

Established in 2004, we are the first and only company to design, build and run bespoke in-house agencies and ecosystems for brands. Today, we create work that delivers business growth, fame and purpose for over 300 clients in 48 countries and counting. Our unique model moves at the speed of modern business to drive change from the inside out; working smarter to make our clients’ money go further, and helping them build better solutions, systems and brands. Client solutions include Unilever’s U-Studio (a platform used by almost three-quarters of Unilever's brands globally), and adidas’ off-shore hub. In 2020 we were ranked #1 in Adweek’s Fastest Growing list (US) and featured in The Drum’s Honours List of the best businesses that helped shape the year. We are part of the Inside Ideas Group (IIG), which combines specialisms from Adjust Your Set (content and culture), Dare (design, experience and engineering) and Aylesworth Fleming (property marketing). IIG joined marketing technology group, The Brandtech Group (formerly known as You & Mr Jones) in January 2019 to give their clients access to the latest marketing technology solutions. The group includes tech-driven marketing companies, 55, Mofilm, Collectively, Gravity Road, Blood and Mobkoi, and holds strategic investments in leading technology businesses including Pinterest, Niantic, AI Foundation, VidMob, Jivox, Zappar, EVRYTHNG, Automat, Blacktag and Beeswax.

Here’s one for you — during a presentation about uncertainty and our struggle with our lack of control, all your slides break and the timer goes off 10 minutes early… Talk about the medium being the message! For all those who attended this version of “Dice, Doubt & Decision Making”, thank you; if you left with a paradoxical sense of unease and confidence, I’ve done my job. Do feel free to reach out or grab me at the festival for a chat tomorrow — I’m always up for a coffee. Or ping me or OLIVER Agency a message and we can arrange something more formal. I’ll be back at MAD//FEST LONDON alongside Seb Bardin, Jamie Irving and Nihir Vedd at 3:15pm on the #AIandEmergingTech stage, to talk about LLMs, automation vs. augmentation, and where the burden of creative responsibility lies between brands and agencies. See you there! #madfest24

In 2 weeks I'll be speaking at MAD//FEST LONDON - the UK's biggest marketing festival. Inspired by Rory Sutherland and Annie Duke, "Dice, Doubt & Decision Making: Bold Strategies for an Unpredictable World" looks at how we can leverage game theory and AI to make better decisions in everyday life. Oliver Roeder, author of the fantastic "Seven Games: A Human History" talks about board games being almost educational art forms; miniature theatres of life for the intellect, where you can practice decision making and rehearse risk-reward scenarios without fear of (meaningful) consequence. And I couldn't agree more. Everything I learned about risk, about loss, about decision making - I learned from backgammon. And I'm excited to share those lessons with you all. (Don't worry, you don't need to know anything about the game to attend) I'll be discussing how to thinking probabilistically to make better choices, how to convert complex decisions into quantifiable data, and sharing some psychological tricks to insulate yourself from failure. By the end of it, you'll feel better equipped to handle the uncertainty and volatility life throws at you. And hopefully inspired to buy a backgammon board. So you fancy a chat, or a game of backgammon whilst I'm there (yes, I'll have a board on me), please get in touch and we can arrange a meet up. #MadFest2024 Dan Brain Sam Benton

When global singer-songwriter John Legend shows up to listen to your Cannes panel and ask questions, you know you’re saying something right 💥 Lean into what’s hard, was the key message from Rebecca Sykes, Head of Emerging Tech at The Brandtech Group, who was on Boston Consulting Group (BCG)’s panel in Cannes this week, addressing the impact of Gen AI in marketing. “You can’t have a conversation about AI with a client that does not address the legal and ethical responsibility that comes with Gen AI. You have to lean into what’s hard,” said Sykes. She joined fellow panelists BCG’s Global CMO Jessica Apotheker, Reckitt CMO Fabrice Beaulieu, Google Cloud CMO Alison Wagonfeld, inspiring the industry and global megastars ✨ alike. #Cannes2024 #GenAI #Brandtech #AIpowered #FutureofAI
