We have been taking time to absorb the devasting news of the loss of Ryan McCabe founder and CEO of BGF-backed Odro who passed away on the 22nd June. We continue to extend our support to Odro's team and non-executive chair Arlene Adams—and are in awe of the courage, vulnerability and leadership they have and continue to show. We have read and observed the thousands of tributes made to Ryan—an exceptional person, inspiring entrepreneur and much-loved leader. It has been a privilege to have known and worked with him closely. We share our deepest condolences to everyone in Ryan's orbit. And above all, to his beloved family.

Congratulations to Operam Education Group on the successful acquisition of Horizon Teachers. It’s the first acquisition the BGF-backed company has completed in London, but its eighth overall, as part of an ambitious buy and build strategy. My Property Box, a specialist residential estate agency headquartered in Darlington, has secured a multi-million-pound investment from BGF. Founded in 2012 by CEO Ben Quaintrell, My Property Box has made 10 acquisitions since 2019, with the aim of creating a platform of scale across the North East. BGF is delighted to have won three awards at the South West Business Insider’s Dealmakers Awards 2024, including the much-coveted ‘PE Firm of the Year’ award! Judges praised BGF for “a strong year in the South West, with a spread of investments at different sizes and across various parts of the region." BGF were also successful in the category for Medium Deal of the Year, for our investment in engineering consultancy firm The Troy Group.
