Singtel, together with Ericsson and Accenture, have created a cutting-edge 5G warehouse for Zuellig Pharma. This use case illustrates the huge potential of 5G to transform warehouse operations, increasing operational efficiency and workforce safety. 5G-enabled technologies in the connected warehouse include: 🥽 Augmented reality (AR) goggles display information in real-time for AR-assisted order picking – improving pick productivity by 30%. 🤚Instead of a handheld barcode scanner, workers wear a special ring scanner on their hand, for a safer and more productive working environment. 🏭 For inventory counting, a 5G-enabled drone captures images in the warehouse and generates a list of barcodes in 20 minutes, instead of taking three hours when done manually. Why is there such a big gap between the strategic narrative and operating reality in telcos? Sharing my personal experience yesterday with Starhub. Starhub calls itself a quad-play operator but can’t even combine two plays in its customer experience. 📞 Recently, I had a billing issue with both mobile and TV services. The call center’s response? “Dear Sir, I am from the mobile department, I cannot help you with the TV package change.” 📺 Then came the survey asking me to rate my “wonderful” experience with the agent, who urged, “Please give me a good rating 🤔 .An AI tool could’ve flagged this as a detractor-level conversation, but the survey was automated, lacking context. 📡 My roaming didn’t work because there was a lag between 2 systems at the telco, so I switched to another telco’s eSIM, only to find out they weren’t much better. Circles Life made me download an extra app, Jetpac, with a $1 promo that had no clear activation status. I downloaded it twice and lost the promo! 🤷‍♂️ Instead of making customers choose the least bad option, telcos should: 🛠️ Integrate their backend data with CX agents for a seamless customer experience. 🤖 Use gen AI to understand sentiments and improve customer interactions. 💬 Ensure clear communication in offers with instant activations even if its a new service like eSIM else be disrupted by agile players like Airalo Do you agree, Share your thoughts! 💬 #Telco #eSIM #CustomerExperience #AI

Together, Foward Singapore! I think Inclusivity and Unity will be key. How can we hear the voices of all residents in Singapore? How do we ensure no opinion is ignored, and no concerns is too small to disregard? Only with correct attitude, we can truely empathise with people who are different from oneself. Very often, we forgot that all people think and react differently. We cannot comprehend the struggle that prevents others from reacting as expected. We are all formed by our culture, our upbringing, our community, our experiences, our setbacks, our self-image built from young, our fear and many more. It is heartening to see that currently, many of the national topics are less of achievement but more on the mental well-being and the understanding of self. Amazon plans to invest US$9 billion in expanding its cloud computing infrastructure in Singapore over the next four years, doubling its previous investment in the country. This move aims to meet the increasing demand for cloud services and accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence. AWS sees Southeast Asia as a strategic market for growth, diversifying away from China and reducing geopolitical risks. With this investment, AWS's total spending outside the US this year reaches about $35 billion, targeting markets like Japan, Saudi Arabia, and Mexico. The announcement aligns with AWS's projected milestone of surpassing $100 billion in annual sales, driven by corporate technology modernization and AI services demand. Singapore, a hub for US businesses in Asia, is seen as a gateway to the broader Southeast Asia region, expected to grow rapidly.
