Runway Safe is honored that our EMASMAX system has been selected by Queenstown Airport to increase airfield safety. The project, to install EMAS at both ends of the runway is the first investment under the Airports new Master Plan prioritising safety and operational efficiency. We congratulate Queenstown Airport on becoming the first EMAS protected airport in Oceania. #queenstownairport #queenstown #airport #EMAS #airfieldsafety #runway #runwaysafe #runwaysafety #aircraftarrestingsystem #airline

Say Goodbye to Runway Risks: EMAS Ensures Safe Landings Every Time. The runway is the final stage of a flight, and a safe landing is the culmination of a successful journey. However, the risks associated with runway overruns can cast a shadow of uncertainty over this critical phase. It's time to say goodbye to runway risks and embrace the assurance of safe landings with EMAS—the Engineered Materials Arresting System. EMAS is the answer to ensuring safe landings, every time. By strategically placing crushable material beyond the runway's end, EMAS provides a reliable means of preventing runway overruns. When an aircraft overruns the runway, EMAS safeguards, absorbing its kinetic energy and facilitating a controlled deceleration, ultimately bringing the aircraft to a safe stop. With EMAS, airports and airlines prioritize the safety of their passengers, crew, and the surrounding communities. They demonstrate a commitment to excellence and a determination to eliminate the risks associated with runway overruns. Say goodbye to the uncertainties and fears that come with runway risks. With EMAS, you can trust that every landing will be met with the highest level of safety and precision. It's time to embrace the future of runway safety and ensure that safe landings become the standard in aviation operations. #laguardiaairport #runwaysafe #runwaysafety #airport #safeairfields #airportsafety #airport #crew

YAEGER AIRPORT | USA January 19, 2010 On January 19th, 2010, an EMAS aircraft arresting system was put to the test and proven to be 100% successful when a Bombardier CRJ-200 Regional Jet with 34 passengers and crew aborted takeoff at the very last second and was safely stopped by the EMAS aircraft arresting system. The aircraft had traveled at high speed before penetrating a substantial distance into the EMAS aircraft arresting system, safely stopping short of a cliff at the end of the airport runway. There were no injuries among the 34 occupants of the aircraft, which was successfully brought to a stop with little or no damage. The runway was reopened within 5 hours following the dramatic event, and the aircraft returned to service three days later. #EMAS #aircraft #aircraftarrestingsystem #runwaysafety #runwaysafe #airport #airline #airportsafety #savinglives

DO YOU KNOW ABOUT Runway Excursions Runway excursions are the most common type of aviation accidents worldwide representing 22% of all accidents. According to ICAO, a runway excursion is a veer off or overrun off the runway surface. This means when the wheels of an aircraft on the runway surface depart the end (overrun) or the side (veer-off) of the runway surface, which can occur at take-off or landing. Statistics of Runway Excursions: ✈ Runway overruns account for more than 50% of runway excursions ✈ Non-compliance RESA’s create risks to passengers, airports, airlines, the general public, and the reputation ✈ EMAS is the safest option for meeting ICAO RESA requirements when there is a non-compliant RESA #RESA #EMAS #ICAO #runway #runwaysafety #airport #airportsafety #runwaysafe #airporttechnology #safety #airline #runwayexcursion

EMAS - An Alternative to RESA EMAS is an alternative to a fully dimensioned Runway Safety Area (RESA) and is in accordance with and complies with aerodrome standards; especially when there is not enough RESA available or when environmental or topographic features limit runway extension options. EMAS does not only replace RESA but will also increase safety in situations with tabletop mountains, water, roads, buildings, and other obstacles that are close to runway ends. hashtag#RESA hashtag#runways hashtag#runwaysafety hashtag#runwaysafety hashtag#runwaysafe hashtag#EMAS hashtag#RSA hashtag#FAA hashtag#ICAO hashtag#airportsafety hashtag#airport hashtag#runwaytechnology
