Inviting team members

We built P2 for team or group collaboration, and it shines once your whole organization joins you in your P2 workspace.

There are three main ways to invite folks to your workspace: sending an invite email, sharing an invite link, or pre-approving an email domain.

Invite email

To invite a team member to your P2 workspace via invite email, do the following:

  1. Go to your workspace’s homepage and click the “Invite people” button. A modal window will open.
  1. Select the role you’d like to apply to your invited teammates, and enter their email addresses. You can enter multiple addresses separating them with commas, or pressing the Enter key.
  1. Click “Send invitations”. Your teammates will receive an invite email with instructions on how to join your workspace.
  2. Done!

An alternative way of onboarding your team is generating an invite link. Invite links are urls that you can share with anybody, and will allow them to join your workspace automatically. To use an invite link:

  1. Open “Invite people” from your workspace’s homepage.
  2. Click the “Create an invite link” option at the bottom.
  3. Copy the url generated and share it with your team.
  4. Done!

Using these links is very convenient, but you shouldn’t share them with anyone that you don’t trust as they’ll be able to join your workspace without supervision. As a security measure, invite links expire automatically one month after they’re generated, and you can disable them manually too.

Once an invite link is disabled nobody will be able to use it to join your workspace. However, you can generate a new one right away.

Pre-approved email domains

If your team, organization, or company uses a custom domain for email addresses (like or example, @automattic.com or @demmo.app, as opposed to @gmail.com), you can also pre-approve it to make onboarding your team even easier.

To enable this option:

  1. Open “Invite people” from your workspace’s homepage.
  2. Click on “Pre-approve an email domain” at the bottom.
  3. You’ll be taken to the admin area of your workspace. Enable “Allow people with an email address from specified domains to join this workspace“.
  4. Choose the role that will be applied to those joining.
  5. Enter the approved domains.
  6. Save the settings.
  7. Done!

Once this option is enabled, anyone joining P2 with an email address from the approved domains will be offered to join your workspace as soon as their address is verified.

Note that for security reasons, generic email providers such as @gmail.com or @hotmail.com can’t be pre-approved.
