Refresh rate

The screen supports up to 144Hz refresh rate. The available modes are three - Default (read Auto), 60Hz and 144Hz. However, while the 60Hz mode keeps the screen's refresh rate static at 60Hz, the 144Hz mode acts exactly like the Default automatic mode.

According to the hardware scanning apps the display supports 30Hz, 48Hz, 50Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz, and 144Hz steps. When the image is idle, 50Hz is used system-wide and 144Hz was used most of the time when there is moving content. We have also seen 30Hz for 30fps videos, 90Hz across some video apps, and we witnessed 120Hz once or twice.

HDR and streaming

The tablet supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision and these streaming options are supported across all popular streaming platforms.

Battery life

The Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro is powered by a 10,000mAh battery. The tablet scored 11:14 hours of Active Use Time on our battery test, which is great for such a large screen. It can offer two days of voice calls, over 9 hours of web browsing, almost 11 hours of video streaming or 7:46 hours of gaming.

Charging speed

The Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro packs a large 10,000 mAh battery and supports 120W fast charging. The retail box contains a 120W power adapter, which is great considering that Samsung and Apple don't bundle charging adapters with their premium tablets.

Xiaomi Pad 6s Pro 12.4 review

Just like other Xiaomi devices with 120W charging, this tablet supports Boost option, which uses the maximum 120W for a longer time when the screen is turned off.

The Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro performed great in our standardized charging test - the speed is indeed incredibly fast, especially for a tablet. Starting from 0%, we saw 20% of charge in just 5 mins on the 120W power adapter, 54% in 15 mins, 88% in 30 mins and 100% in 38 mins.

The Pad 6S Pro is the fastest charging tablet we have reviewed.

Speakers - quality and loudness

The Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro has a total of six speakers with support for Dolby Atmos and Immersive Sound. They are placed under large grilles on the shorter sides of the tablet. You may have noticed that there are four grilles only, but two of those outlets actually cover four speakers.

We watched videos and played music on this tablet before this test and the sound was incredibly loud and rich. Our loudness test confirms this is the loudest device we have tested so far. And the audio is superb - there is deep bass, great vocals, and well-presented high-frequency range.

Use the Playback controls to listen to the phone sample recordings (best use headphones). We measure the average loudness of the speakers in LUFS. A lower absolute value means a louder sound. A look at the frequency response chart will tell you how far off the ideal "0db" flat line is the reproduction of the bass, treble, and mid frequencies. You can add more phones to compare how they differ. The scores and ratings are not comparable with our older loudspeaker test. Learn more about how we test here.

For outside? i am in a sunny country and need to visit properties.

I prefere contrast to brightness. 500/600 nits is more than enough when you have perfect blacks and awesome colours

I just laugh 🤣🤣🤣🤣
