I read China and global have the same battery technology. It doesn't say anything in the specs of GSMArena about that.

DXomark for 14 is just 138, up by 8 points from previous model. I wonder what is the score for Ultra.

fagiolino, 07 Mar 2024can someone explain to me the battery difference between t... moreThe Chinese model uses a silicon carbide battery which is a newer battery tech that can fit more mAh into the same size battery. However, this type of battery is also more expensive.
They cut this from the global variant and are using a regular battery instead. That is the reason for the different battery capacities. So far as far as I know, Honor is the only company to use the silicon carbide battery in a global smartphone.

For example it's 500rmb more than the Oppo find x7 ultra with similar specifications. Price is generally in line with competitors though but just slightly on the high side

Not worth the price 1Lakh bucks, Camera also not better than vivo x100 pro. LYT 900 same as IMax989. Build quality not upto the mark in this price. People would choose either S24 Ultra, vivo X100 pro or Iphone 15 pro max. Waiting for the test results to compare deeply. Not happy with MI.

That's because of the import taxes, shipping costs, localization efforts...etc. Nothing to do with how expensive the hardware is. In China where they're manufactured, it costs a couple of dollars (~$100-$200) for all the hardware and put them together.

It's pricey, because all camera sensors of this phone belongs to Sony. If you don't believe, go make search, an you will realize if sony sensors installed, then mobile phones get pricey. Even iphone 15 pro max, sony sensors. And image that how great are Sony Mirorless cameras

It’s like every rash of new models bears the almost the same specs not just as what was there before, but also their competitor’s phones. All current phones only resolve 12.5 or 10Mp of detail producing images too small to fill the screen of a 5k iMac from a decade ago!! And a decade ago we had 16MP and 20MP and 41MP sensors good enough to manage, not just 5K but 6K and with 41MP Nokias, even 8K displays, and this IS what counts because this IS the way we look at pictures now, unless you really want to spring hundreds of dollars to buy a much dimmer print with a far narrower dynamic range and less accurate colour? Well, do you?
These multi-lens flagship phones are thus a few steps back in time and in quality at base ISO compared to even a 2015 Microsoft 950 with its single lens covering a 20MP sensor, that records 20MP of resolution that is of exquisite detail (better than the iPhone Pro Max 15’s “24MP” software dependent option), and it seems to me these phones need simply to fit a fast ultrawide lens for parties and selfies that gives great results in bad night lighting, yet reserve the excellent qualities all older sensors have at base iso for their ultrawide and tele and main wide cameras, because otherwise we are being condemned by the industry to needlessly tote huge heavy cameras around forever - or is that the idea?

To make a long story short, the Xiaomi 14 ultra is a carbon copy of the OnePlus 12 I recently purchased which is a good thing. Same high specs and same high end overall excellence rivaling Apple iPhone 15 pro max. Enough said
