OnePlus 12 and OnePlus Open get Android 15 Beta 2

Vlad, 29 June 2024

Google is hard at work on the upcoming Android 15 release, and a bunch of OEMs have already started their own beta programs for it. OnePlus is one of them. Today OnePlus has announced the immediate availability of Android 15 Beta 2 for the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus Open.

The instructions to install it can be found at the Source linked below. The company says this is "best suited for developers and other advanced users", and it does not recommend using it if "you have little to no experience in software development, if you expect to use the device as a daily driver". So be warned.

The new build brings some improvements compared to the first beta. Overall system stability and performance should be better, and there are fixes for issues with split-screen, Bluetooth compatibility, personal hotspot, camera, and some third party apps.

However, there are still many known issues for both phones (that you can access at the Source linked below), which once again underscores that this build is not intended for the public. It is however good to see that OnePlus is continuously working on Android 15, so hopefully the final release will come pretty soon after Google unleashes it later this year.

That’s exactly how I feel! It’s the best-looking Android skin and one of the most functional.

I will always prefer the old close-to-stock OxygenOS, but I see the new OxygenOS (aka ColorOS) isn't really bad at all, at least if you prefer custom UI. It feels less-iPhoney than MIUI, and got much features that as much as OneUI. My experience...

But poor with international UI design. That's one aspect nobody can argue against but you're right on other frowns except AI hardware they're behind the USA woth that - ahem NVidia
