Sure, Microsoft owned them by that point but the Lumia 830 was pretty much out in the factory by that point. And you can see afterwards how creativity died at Microsoft's hands: Lumia 640 and what followed were bland and boring devices, which didnt help Windows phone at all.
Lumia 950 lineup just released to be "Business" devices, which probably steered away a lot of people. And this was in the year when Android was in a tumultous war of changes with the S5, the LG G5 and so much more.

This 'cheaper' device is just the Pulse Pro with a FHD+ screen (vs. HD+), it seems.

They have so much bezel space and they still decided to put a fugly notch on it, ugh.
HMD cant let the classics sleep without making an abomination with them.

Between 2001 and early 2014, Nokia made Lumia (advertised as Nokia Lumia).
Late 2014, devices were advertised as Microsoft Lumia, despite the fact Microsoft was licensed to use Nokia brand name for 10 years.

HMD is not Nokia. They just make Nokia-branded devices (different thing, because they only use Nokia branding and that's it). Last time the real Nokia makes device is when Lumia still existed (or is it the Nokia X one is their last phones? I'm a bit forgot).
