I won't be surprised if the higher price is attributed by the new titanium body and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Even the S24 Ultra cost more than before because of them.

The current Xperia 5 Mk5 with sole 256GB storage costs the same as a vanilla iPhone 15 with similar storage. It's an easy no-brainer for me to have the Sony all day.

It's down the prices should be going, not up. Tecno can make a €1,000 book-style foldable, so it is possible. It's just that if a foldable had the same specs and price as its bar-style counterpart, nobody would buy the bar phone.
