Why need a hacker ? so many reasons to hire a hacker . i have been in this marriage for couple of years but no happiness. my partner has never had time for me . The vulnerabilities through security patches is the least for Android as nobody wants to make an exploit since it might not work with different devices. Android phones have an additional skin on top of Android.
A bunch of devices with fragmentation mean More work, less reward. Just ask Edward Snowden.
Hackers rejoice at the thought of developing vulnerabilities for iPhones as every device gets the update on same day. Also iOS users are technically the worst, so can be easily hacked.

my 3,5 yrs old galaxy s9 receives monthly security updates with 15-20 days delay. I think this is not bad. newer models receive it faster.

also if an adversary has your phone for a big amount of time, some vulnerability may arise in the meantime which again makes it critical to have the newest security patch as possible .
Believe it or not, smartphone manufactures started taking security serious only in the last 1-2 years, phones like iphone 11 or s10 were hackable for a good period of time until they patched it. So far the latest versions are safe .

They tried to use cellebrite to get into my phone and my p40 pro showed them the middle finger, if it was missing few months worth of security patches, they would have got in .That's how cellebrite and other forensic tools hack smartphones, they rely on vulnerabilities to extract the encryption key from ram ar at least bypass the brute force protection .

Had that address from 2001. Couple of phone calls later (directly to Yahoo US), I managed to enter again in my email address, copy everything I had in there, then deleted the email address and made a new one (with 2 step verification this time). Luckily I didn't had any bank account information or something similar. Just some personal emails.
Bottom line, it can happen.
Of course, by the normal human mentality, every person on this planet thinks "It will never happen to me". Until it does.
