Stellantis extends e-Routes connected planning app to all its brands

Stellantis has today announced that it's expanding the availability of its e-Routes app to all of its brands "this summer". This made its debut on Citroen cars in October of last year, and has ben progressively rolled out already to Peugeot, DS, Opel, and Vauxhall EVs. Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, and Lancia cars are getting it imminently as well.

It's a smartphone app, available for both iPhones and Android devices, which is primarily intended for those who purchased an EV from a Stellantis brand without the navigation system (which is a thing you can apparently do).

Thus, this app takes the place of said system, allowing you to plan trips on your phone and then use CarPlay or Android Auto to stream the navigation to your car. Furthermore, the app has access to real-time vehicle data such as battery charge level, battery capacity, and air temperature, and takes those into account when planning your drive.

The app gives you "precise suggestions on the most efficient charging stations along the route" too, tailored planning based on your vehicle's characteristics, and even features speed camera alerts and support for voice instructions.

Guidance towards charging stations uses real-time traffic information and "vehicle state of charge dynamic updates" - if you're driving at a higher speed compared to suggested planning, it will notify you about new route options and suggest new charging sessions to guarantee the minimum state of charge at the destination, which you have set.

For each journey you'll also get live availability information for charging station plugs, and you'll have a list of restaurants, bars, and hotels nearby too in case you want to use them while your car is charging. Depending on charging network, e-Routes might even estimate the cost of each charging session in advance.

e-Routes is included in the Stellantis brands' Connect Plus optional package, and also available as a standalone service for customers who purchased their vehicle before July 3, 2023. The Connect Plus pack is offered with a dedicated trial period of use included in the vehicle price. After that trial expires, it will be a subscription service.

The standalone subscription is €40 per year or €4 per month.
