As promised, OPPO today launched its latest Reno12 Series. These new models, while being thin and light, also feature a metal-liquid textured back design. Starting from 2699 yuan, the series includes two models: the Reno12 and the Reno12 Pro. Pre-orders for these phones are now open, and they will go on sale on May 31.
The standard Reno12 comes in three color options: Soft Peach, Ebony Black, and Millennium Silver. The two phones are identical in appearance, with differences in their internal configurations.
The Reno12 features a straight AMOLED screen on the front, measuring 6.7 inches with a resolution of 2412 × 1080 pixels, a pixel density of 394 PPI, and support for 1.07 billion colors. It also offers a wide color gamut (P3), 600 nits of manual maximum brightness, 1200 nits of peak brightness, and supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate.
The rear camera setup consists of three lenses:
- A 50-megapixel wide-angle primary camera: Sony LYT-600, 1/1.95″, ƒ/1.8, 26mm equivalent focal length, OIS support.
- A 50-megapixel DSLR-grade portrait lens: S5KJN5, 1/2.75 inches, ƒ/2.0, 47mm equivalent focal length, AF support.
- An 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens: Sony IMX355, 1/4 inch, ƒ/2.2, 16mm equivalent focal length, 112° FOV.
The Reno12 supports up to 2x hybrid optical zoom and up to 20x digital zoom. The front camera features a Samsung S5KJN5 sensor, a 1/2.75-inch, 50-megapixel ultra-sensitive cat’s eye lens with an ƒ/2.0 aperture, AF support, and an open-loop focus motor.
The phone is powered by the Dimensity 8250, an octa-core processor with a maximum frequency of 3.1GHz. It has a 5000mAh battery that supports 80W charging. The Reno12 comes with ColorOS 14.1 pre-installed, has a body thickness of 7.25mm, and weighs around 179g.
The Reno12 Pro is available in three color options: Champagne Gold, Ebony Black, and Silver Mirage Purple. It shares the same screen, lens combination, lens module design, battery capacity, and fast charging specifications as the standard Reno12.
The key difference is that the Reno12 Pro is equipped with the Dimensity 9200+, an octa-core processor with a maximum frequency of 3.35GHz. It has a body thickness of 7.55mm and weighs 183g/184g. Apart from these differences, everything else remains the same between the two models.
