I'm a big Apple Music fan due to the interface and library, but not being able to stream lossless is starting to become a deal breaker for me.

Not sure why they gave access to third parties to the Dolby Atmos and not loses.

Currently on the fence to switch to TIDAL, I got a Sonos Beam 2 and 2 x Sonos One SL.

Dolby Atmos barely gets in the Ones (only the Beam is compatible), but lossless from TIDAL is streaming 100% volume everywhere.

My only gripe is that I can't upload music on TIDAL and some of their remastered albums are awful.

Hoping for a change with iOS 18 as closing between lossless bad dynamic range vs compressed good dynamic range via Airplay 2 (when the protocol is capable of streaming 24bit audio) is starting to iritate me.

Dumb question but did you ever enable the Hi-Res and Lossless option on the Apple Music settings? All the songs are lossless unless enabled however I turned off Dolby because it’s useless to me. With that mentioned I use a dac with Headphones setup at the moment.

Apple does now support lossless and it works on the new HomePod:

I actually bought one the other day when Verizon had it on sale:

Hopefully Verizon does that sale again so you can buy one to get lossless audio

I can say that the sound quality is phenomenal compared to my first gen HomePod and I’ve been using Apple Lossless via my M1 iMac 🖥️ since Apple made it available
