Carrier Bluetooth problem

I have an iMac, a Macbook Pro, and an iPhone 15 Pro.
Bluetooth is activated on them all but they cannot seem to find each other.
On my iPhone it eventually found the other two after a long search and they were all together, not 3 feet apart.
When I clicked on the iPhone Macs it had found I got:-
"Pairing Unsuccessful - Mac & Macbook are not supported"??

Any guidance will be most appreciated.

My experience is it’s an unreliable undertaking. The theory goes… make sure all devices are running the most recent operating system.

I often can’t airdrop from my phone to my Mac until I launch airdrop on the Mac and wait a long time. Way too long.

You don’t (can’t) pair iPhones, Macs, and iPads to iPhone another using Bluetooth- so the behavior you’re seeing is perfectly normal.

That’s an entirely different question, likely not related to Bluetooth at all.

On your MacBook, check Photos > Settings > iCloud. If that’s on, then your photos are likely transferring via iCloud, I.e. not directly from the phone to the MacBook at all - but from the phone to iCloud, then from iCloud to the MacBook.

If that’s the case, turning on the same setting on the iMac should sort the issue.

If that’s not it, or if the steps don’t solve it - provide a lot more detail.

• What versions iOS/macos?
• How many photos on each device?
• How long does it take a photo to “automatically” transfer to the MacBook?
• What’s the total free storage on each device?

Both iMac & MacBook Pro are Sonoma 14.5
Macbook pro 1,269 Photos & 61 short Videos - No more than 30 seconds each.
iMac 95 photos.
Transfer time from iPhone to iMac = 5 to 10 minutes
