❤ Greetings from #Berlin! Last night at the “Volkswagen Group Forum”, we celebrated the icons of pop-culture. A panel talk with German soul-singer Joy Denalane and producer Max Herre discussed the similarities of cars, like the Volkswagen Beetle or the Porsche AG 911, and #music: both carry emotions, memories and touch people. Among the guests: Oliver Blume, CEO of Volkswagen Group. 👀 Nevertheless, modern technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and the metaverse are opening up new, exciting dimensions. These technologies will fundamentally change the way people experience and consume music - from AI-generated videos to infotainment and in-car karaoke to immersive live entertainment spaces. ❗ The current exhibition, „ICONIC - A Timeless Journey of Culture, Society and Mobility” features original examples from the arts, design, architecture and fashing. You will find it, super central, in Friedrichstraße 84, just a ten minute walk from Brandenburg Gate! ❤ Check! It! Out!--Its open until February 2025. See you in Berlin!

🎉 Our colleagues at #Bentley are celebrating the first anniversay of their "Environmental Foundation". Therefore, they are announcing three new partnerships: with Hubbub, Forum for the Future, and Renewable World, bringing the total number of partners to ten! So, here's a brief introduction of the three new partners: 🌳 A UK-based charity, Hubbub connects businesses, organizations, local authorities, and communities to create environmental campaigns. 🌏 For nearly three decades, Forum for the Future has been driving the shift towards a just and regenerative future. They inspire companies to place people and the planet at the core of their strategies. ⚡ Renewable World empowers communities in poverty by improving access to clean energy. For example, the foundation supports The CLASS Project in Nepal's Banke National Park. Closer to home, Bentley is regenerating the Valley Brook River in Crewe and providing environmental traineeships. Bentley Motors continues to inspire and educate early career colleagues, proud members of the Environmental Funders Network and Catalyst 2030.

🌎 First half of 2024: our #deliveries reached the same level as last year. Check out three key facts: ● Worldwide deliveries: 4.35 million vehicles (H1 2023: 4.37 mio.) ● Deliveries of all-electric vehicles are slightly below last year (317,200 vehicles vs. 321,600 vehicles) ● Orders received in Western Europe for #allelectric vehicles: up 124% (H1 2024 vs. H1 2023) 💬 “In North America and South America, we grew significantly and were able to expand our market share. ♻ Our second story is about AUDI AG. #Team Ingolstadt successfully switches to sustainable production with the 360factory vision!   Their plant in Győr, Hungary, has been net carbon neutral since 2020. It's also boasting: 🏆 One of the biggest photovoltaic roof systems in Europe. 🏆 One of the largest industrial users of geothermal energy in Hungary.   As of January 1st, 2024, the Ingolstadt plant is also net carbon-neutral, making it the third Audi plant to achieve this milestone. As part of the mission, the goal by 2025 is net carbon neutrality at all Audi locations worldwide.   🙌 Moreover, Audi uses recycled materials for a number of components in the car. For instance, the interior fabrics and several plastic components of the Q6 e-tron are partly made from recycled materials.   Stay tuned for more stories on our sustainability journey!

🤸♀️ Welcome to our Sustainability Week! A series of posts about Volkswagen Group initiatives and achievements in this area. Did you know? Volkswagen Group Africa just received an international award for a project about "plastic recycling". Congratulations! 😮 Since the start of the initiative in 2023, the Kariega plant, located in South East Africa, directed more than 130 tons of plastic waste to an upcycling project of the local community. “As we strive to achieve a "zero impact factory" by 2030, it is essential that we demonstrate a similar commitment to the community, and this particular project allows us to have a direct impact on the lives of those in need in our community,” says Ulrich Schwabe, VWGA Production Director. ♻ During the recycling process, discarded plastic parts are collected, sorted, and transported to a local non-profit organization. The NGO generates an income and employment from converting the parts to crates and selling them. 🙌 This is just one example, how we reduce waste in our factories, all around the world. Stay tuned for updates on other initiatives!

❤ This week, it’s two years ago, that our colleagues from PowerCo started their journey. Congratulations! They are really busy, building a global cell production network: there will be at least three battery factories, all over the globe: ✅ Salzgitter, Germany ✅ Valencia, Spain ✅ St. Thomas, Ontario / Canada The company’s major strength will be vertical integration from raw materials and the cell through to recycling. Check out some of the major milestones from the last 24 months: ● New production process: dry coating of battery cells saves about 30 percent energy, 15 percent of floor space required, and millions of Euros in production costs ● New battery cell: The unified cell format will help increasing performance and cutting costs at the same time ● Joint-Venture IONWAY builds a local battery supply chain in Europe Would you be interested in a tour of a battery factory?
