Porsche is recalling yet another batch of high-end Taycan electric vehicles (EVs) in China, the second in the past year.
The luxury automaker is recalling a total of 17,278 imported Taycan series EVs manufactured between January 7, 2020, and April 24, 2024, according to an announcement on China's State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) website today.
The recall will begin on August 31, 2024, according to the announcement.
Due to design reasons, the front brake hoses on these vehicles may crack and cause brake fluid to leak.
This could result in reduced braking effectiveness, longer braking distances, and an increased risk of a vehicle crash, according to the announcement.
Porsche will commission authorized dealers to provide free replacement of optimized front axle brake hoses for the recalled vehicles to eliminate the safety hazard.
In October 2023, Porsche recalled 2,570 Taycan EVs in China due to the risk of thermal runaway of the battery.
In 2022, Porsche had two recalls of Taycan EVs in China, as previously reported by CnEVPost.
The Taycan is one of the highest-priced EVs available in China, with information on Porsche's website indicating that it has a starting price range of RMB 1,038,000 ($142,840) to RMB 1,998,000 in China.
