A report earlier this month said that the Onvo L60 will be officially launched on September 10.
Nio (NYSE: NIO) officially launched its Onvo (Ledao in China) sub-brand on May 15 and unveiled the L60, the first model under the new brand.
Onvo has shared many images of the L60 on its social media platforms over the past month, but its interior has been a secret.
Now, two spy shots circulating in multiple WeChat group chats have shown off the model's interior, revealing a lot of details, though they may be tweaked for the mass-produced model.
The model has an oval steering wheel with few buttons on it, similar to Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) models.
It also appears to have a gear shifter located under the right side of the steering wheel like Tesla's older models. Tesla has now eliminated the physical shifter on some of its newer models, and drivers will need to shift gears via the touchscreen.
The Onvo L60 has a horizontal center screen, unlike the vertical screen used in current Nio models. Many users in the Nio community have been saying for the past few years that they prefer a horizontal center screen.
When Nio launched the Onvo brand on May 15, it mentioned that the Onvo L60 has a horizontal 17.2-inch center screen.
The model doesn't have a dashboard like Nio models but has a HUD (Heads Up Display) system, Nio said last month.
The latest spy photos also show the Onvo L60 with a glass roof similar to Tesla models.
It has a smaller screen in the back for passenger use, the spy shots show a lot of space inside.
Nio began pre-sales of the Onvo L60 on May 15, with a pre-sale price of RMB 219,900 ($30,260), RMB 30,000 less than the entry-level version of the Tesla Model Y.
The official launch and deliveries of the Onvo L60 will be in September, Nio previously said, without revealing a specific date.
On June 19, local media outlet Internet Info Agency reported that the Onvo L60 will be officially launched on September 10.
Earlier this month, the Onvo L60 entered a model catalog with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, completing the last major regulatory process befor its launch.
The Onvo L60 will use lithium iron phosphate batteries supplied by BYD, and will be available with single and dual motor options, and will be built at the Nio F2 plant, according to its regulatory filing.
