Xiaomi (HKG: 1810, OTCMKTS: XIACY) revised upward its deliveries figure for its first electric vehicle (EV) model, the SU7, for the month of May, and hinted that April's figure was also revised upward slightly.
As of May 31, Xiaomi delivered 8,646 units of the Xiaomi SU7 series of vehicles in May, the phone maker said in a Hong Kong stock exchange announcement today.
Yesterday, Xiaomi's EV arm, Xiaomi EV, said on Weibo that it delivered 8,630 new cars in May. The latest stock exchange figures mean that May's deliveries were revised upwards by 16 units.
Additionally, Xiaomi's announcement also implies that the delivery figures for April, the first month that deliveries of the SU7 began, have also been revised slightly upwards.
Cumulative deliveries of the Xiaomi SU7 series in 2024 amount to 15,764 units, Xiaomi's HKEX announcement today said.
Based on the year-to-date figures, April deliveries should be 7,118 units, higher than the 7,058 units mentioned in one of Xiaomi's May 1 HKEX announcement.
The Xiaomi SU7 is about to enter a new round of delivery ramp-up and Xiaomi EV will ensure deliveries of over 10,000 units in June, the Xiaomi unit wrote on Weibo earlier today.
From June, the Xiaomi EV factory has started double-shift production to increase capacity, it said.
At the same time, Xiaomi EV will shorten the hesitation period for firm orders from 7 days to 3 days, or 72 hours, from 12 am on June 5, it said.
This is to accelerate the efficiency of matching firm orders with production, Xiaomi EV said.
The Xiaomi SU7 went on sale on March 28, and previously, customers placing an order could get a refund at any time within seven days, a higher hesitation period than the usual 1-2 days in the sector.
